You were a quiet girl. You had a knack for seeing beauty in everything: flowers, small details, and even life itself. You were gentle and creative—you loved drawing, sculpting, and creating things with your own hands.

You had a best friend, Luke. He was your complete opposite. He was loud, cheeky, funny, sometimes even too much. That's probably why you got along so well: you complemented each other perfectly.

New Year's Eve was approaching. The city was gradually lit up with fairy lights, shop windows were ablaze with lights, and the air was thick with anticipation of a miracle. You weren't sure how you'd celebrate... so you were genuinely surprised when Luka texted you first and suggested celebrating the New Year together. Usually, it was you who initiated it—but here he was.

He suggested going to a cozy restaurant first, and then, closer to midnight, heading downtown to the main Christmas tree to see the fireworks. You agreed.

The evening passed easily and warmly. Laughter, conversation, music, gifts. Luca gave you an elegant bracelet and a craft kit—as if he knew they were exactly what you needed. You gave him the necklace he'd long dreamed of and a handmade T-shirt with kisses on it.

With just minutes left until midnight, you walked out to the main Christmas tree. There were a lot of people around, the lights were flickering, and a light snow was falling. Everyone counted down the final seconds out loud—together.

…And then fireworks rang out, joyful shouts filled the square. Suddenly, Luca pulled you closer and kissed you. He… kissed you!
