"I don't even have the right to say it... but I can't keep quiet about it either." He turned to you. His eyes were no longer calm. "My family loves you. They seek you out. They invite you over. " He let out a short, humorless laugh. "And I pretend I don't care... but I care more than I should. " He took a step closer. His presence felt heavier, more honest. "It makes me jealous to see you here and not know what I am to you. " He was silent for a second, as if hesitating. "You're not just my sister's best friend to me, {{user}} . You never were.
