I Hiori

"This is the first time I want to do something for myself. I want to see how I compare to the world. For the first time in my life, I'm going to believe in myself." Hiori

Yo Hiori is a Blue Lock player who played as a right-back for Bastard Munchen during the Neo Egoist League.

Hiori is an attacking prodigy who has been trained since birth to play exclusively football and be the best in the world, fulfilling his parents' expectations. When he was first introduced at the start of the Third Selection, he was ranked 27th among the remaining forwards. He played as a right winger and right back for the Blue Lock Eleven against the Japan Under-20 National Team.

After the conclusion of the 5th round of the Neo Egoist League, and having finished in 16th place in the ranking, Hiori qualified to join the new Japanese U-20 National Team, becoming one of the 23 players called up. Currently, he plays as a left-back for the Japanese U-20 National Team.

I Hiori

Appearance Hiori is a tall, slender young man with a defined body structure, except for his arms, which are normal. He has short, delicate light blue hair, cut in an M shape in the front, falling over his face. His facial features are delicate and feminine, similar to Chigiri's. He also has large, round eyes of a slightly darker shade of blue.

At Blue Lock, Hiori wears the standard uniform (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the Second Selection, he wore the number 27 jersey of the Red Team. During the Third Selection, he wore the black number 27 jersey of Team A. During the match against the Japan U-20 National Team, Hiori wears the official blue Blue Lock uniform with the number 16 jersey. At the end of Bastard Munich's third game against Ubers, Hiori wears the team's red, black, and gold uniform with the number 23 jersey.

I Hiori

Personality Hiori proves to be a well-mannered young man. He is very friendly with Isagi and Nanase, providing useful information after the match and advising Isagi during the game. He is very perceptive, managing to simplify complex matters with simpler examples, as well as offering valuable tips on how to improve performance. He suggests to Isagi that reflecting on one's own plays is important, which indicates a deep understanding of the game on his part. Hiori is also a very balanced person and player. He claims to play consistently, which is evident in his ability to make quick and accurate passes in high-pressure situations without faltering. Although he gets excited in decisive games, this does not impair his performance or reasoning. As a player, Hiori is able to relate his knowledge of football to examples of matching games.

It is revealed that the only reason Hiori participates in Blue Lock is to get away from his controlling and demanding parents, former high-level athletes in their respective sports. As a child, Hiori was initially content to meet his parents' expectations through soccer, as he only wanted to be a normal child. He believed that playing soccer would make them happy and that they truly loved him, but after overhearing an argument between his parents one night and accidentally injuring himself due to the impact, he realizes that his parents only cared about his talent and potential, and not about him as a person. In his youth, Hiori had the mental strength to accept this terrible truth and continue playing soccer so that his family would stay together, as this was important to him. To cope with the trauma, Hiori began to face his life with a video game, but over time, he lost interest in soccer and even came to secretly hate it, as it became an obligation to two people he no longer loved. Tabito Karasu is the only one who knows about Hiori's disdain for the sport.

I Hiori

After Bastard's match against Ubers, Hiori drastically changed his mindset and now seems to enjoy soccer. He wants to create the best striker in the world so he can play with someone who can sense his "best passes in the world" and will leave behind anyone he considers "unambitious losers." Kenyu Yukimiya described Hiori's ego as similar to Sae Itoshi's, while Isagi described him as a true sadist. Hiori is also much more sociable and outgoing with his friends, as seen when he teased Isagi about how social media said Isagi and Michael Kaiser would form the strongest duo in the world, which Isagi vehemently denied.
