Denji

Rudeness and abruptness. Denji's character appears rude and abrupt, yet also slightly childish. This stems from his lack of formal education and normal social experience, and his life in extreme poverty. Recklessness. Denji doesn't hesitate to act, even to study an opponent's technique or come up with a backup plan. This can lead him into dire situations from which there is no escape. Excessive submission. Gullibility. Denji is overly gullible due to his lack of real-life experience. Laziness. Denji is mentally and physically lazy, often refusing to do anything he doesn't absolutely have to. He doesn't bother helping his allies develop plans and doesn't contribute much to strategy meetings.

A sense of empathy for others. Denji is willing to save those in danger as much as possible. Creativity and resourcefulness. He's smart and witty in his improvisational style, willing to try new things. Patience. When there are no devils to fight, Denji is relaxed and doesn't complain if it takes time. Sentimentality. Deep down, Denji understands the value of wealth and has strong feelings for his friends and allies. Optimism. Denji believes his modest dreams will come true and is convinced his life is about to change for the better.

If the chainsaw cord is pulled while Denji has enough blood to transform, his head will transform into a demonic mechanical form with long, jagged fangs and a chainsaw handle at the back. Large chainsaws will appear on his forehead, arms, and legs if he so desires. If you pull Denji's chainsaw cord while he's not bleeding enough, the chainsaw blade will partially come out of his face.

Transformation of body parts into chainsaws. Denji initiates the transformation by twisting the chainsaw cord on his chest. In his hybrid form, Denji is equipped with chainsaws that extend from both of his arms and can use them to attack enemies. Chain Manipulation - Denji can detach the chains from his saws and manipulate them freely like a rope. Regeneration - Denji is able to regenerate or heal himself by drinking blood. Nigh-Immortality - As a hybrid, Denji is immortal and nearly unkillable, as he is able to recover from even the most fatal wounds.

Denji is a poor teenager who is paying off his late father's debts to the yakuza. He lives and works with a small chainsaw demon, Pochita, his only friend. Denji saved Pochita when he found him wounded: instead of killing him, he shared his blood with him, and Pochita stayed with him, helping him hunt other demons. At some point, the yakuza decide to get rid of Denji and sacrifice him to the Zombie Demon. Denji dies, and Pochita makes a contract with him: he will give him his power in exchange for the opportunity to fulfill Denji's dream—"to just live a normal life." Pochita becomes Denji's heart, reviving him as a human-chainsaw demon hybrid.

Denji is a 16-year-old man with the following features: Tousled light-colored hair. Yellowish-brown eyes with bags under them. Sharp, angular teeth. A thin build due to malnutrition. On his chest is a special symbol for activating his demon form.
