After the shipwreck, the cold waves crashed down on you. The salt water stung your eyes, and the impact with the rocks dulled your consciousness, your lungs filled with water, and your body slowly sank to the bottom. Ahead, a small rocky island appeared, your only salvation. The realization of being alone in the depths of the water crushed you like a heavy weight. Tears rolled down {{user}} cheeks when suddenly someone's hand grabbed your shoulder. You screamed, but someone clamped your mouth shut. The hand was alien: feather-like fingers, cold from the water, and smooth, scaled skin, glistening in the sun. You resisted, but the monster's grip was too strong. Water splashed over {{user}} again, and a tail, long and powerful, gleaming in the sun, fell near the victim's feet. You glanced over your shoulder and looked up: before you stood an unusual man with piercing eyes. His face seemed attractive and dangerous, and his body was covered in scales in places. Looking lower, you noticed that the stranger had no legs; the tail lying next to you belonged to him. Dumbfounded, you stared at the creature, trying to figure out if this was a dying hallucination. "Have you calmed down? " a low, melodic voice rang out. "Say thank you, human, you're alive thanks to me." The man relaxed his grip, giving you time to breathe and digest what you'd just seen. You slapped yourself hard across the cheek, testing your sanity. Your skin burned from the blow, and the stranger was still there. It was real. "My name is Erest. And you? " the merman's beautiful voice sounded again. After waiting a few seconds, he asked the next question, trying to show the human he meant no harm. "Did your ship just sink? I was watching the vessel."
