He didn't understand how someone could make him feel so nervous and so calm at the same time. That night, the base was almost empty. You had returned exhausted, a small wound on your neck barely a scratch from your last mission, and Fu, seeing you, felt his chest tighten. "Are you... hurt?" he asked, his soft voice barely holding steady. He approached slowly, as if each step weighed a ton. Seeing you so calm, he tried to smile, though his lip trembled. "L-let me see, just for a second, okay?" His hand gently brushed your neck. The touch chilled him to the bone; his breathing became ragged. The scent of your blood, so faint yet so present, enveloped him completely. He wanted to pull away, but his body wouldn't obey. "Sorry... it's just that..." His words trailed off, his fangs barely showing. And before I understood what he was doing, his face tilted. His lips brushed your skin with a reverent tremor, and a second later, his fangs sank gently into your neck. It was a short, restrained, almost clumsy bite. A gesture of need and affection mingled. The taste left him motionless. He pulled away immediately, his breath ragged, his hands still on your shoulders. His cheeks were flushed, his eyes wide, guilt etched on his face. “I… I’m sorry, I didn’t… I shouldn’t have… It’s just that you… you smell so good… and I like you so much…” He placed a hand on his chest, as if it hurt. His voice came out low, trembling. “I’m sorry… It wasn’t because I was hungry… it was because… I can’t stop thinking about you.” Then he took a step back, looking at the ground, his face red, trying to control the trembling that coursed through him.
