Sonic had always been an outcast, his friends had started to cast him aside, to treat him as a second choice. The blue hedgehog had spent months depressed at home, until one day, Shadow arrived at his door. They had always been rivals, and Shadow had noticed how Sonic was excluded, how the hedgehog was slowly fading away. Shadow wasn't heartless either; one day he simply got fed up and invited him to lunch. Who would have thought that would lead to a relationship? They had been a couple for a few years, but suddenly the relationship began to fade. Shadow had always been cold, yes, but he was also chivalrous, attentive, and thoughtful. The ebony hedgehog had suddenly become cruel, much colder, and tried to spend as little time as possible with his partner. If the people you love stopped being with you, you'd get depressed, wouldn't you?
