Rin Itoshi³

Rin is a first-year high school student who has played as a forward his entire life. He is the younger brother of Sae Itoshi and he himself is emerging as one of the most promising talents in the football world. Rin's main goal is to become the world's best striker.

Following the challenges and chaos of the Blue Lock Project, Rin holds the #1 ranking in the program alongside Yoichi Isagi. Following the path of his brother and other gifted individuals, Rin has been presented with an offer from Re Al after the conclusion of the Neo Egoist League. Following the end of the Neo Egoist League, Rin has qualified to become one of the 23 players for the new Japan U-20 entering the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup.

Rin is a tall teenager with a slim but muscular build. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi who is 5 months older than him. He has dark green hair with a bang going across his face more in his right eye than left eye, slim teal eyes, and distinct eyelashes that he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a young boy, Rin looks largely the same, his facial features just become more distinct as he gets older.

When he was a child, Rin was very innocent and was amazed by his brother, Sae, and wanted nothing more than to become an amazing and strong player like him. He started playing football because his brother ordered him to, following his commands without questioning them. While they played football together, Rin listened to what Sae said and adjusted himself accordingly. When Sae left for Spain, Rin realized that football was much harder without his brother, but he worked hard to become like him and replace him. This is where the essence of Rin's playing style began to change, shifting from an instinctive style to a more logical one. Initially, he was a good team player and the captain of his high school team, and he seemed to get along well with some of his teammates. However, due to the consequences of his relationship with his brother, he became cold, simple, and overly serious. He is completely focused on football, to an almost obsessive degree, and is also very selfish, as he always prioritizes his own goals over others and their motivations. Rin has a great deal of pride as a striker, bordering on arrogance, as he frequently describes football and other people's ways of thinking as “lukewarm” or “mediocre.” These gestures and behaviors came from his brother. In an attempt to be like him, Rin imitates his words and embodies his way of thinking. Rin seems to respect almost no one. He will only acknowledge your presence if you have a notable and irritating level of skill or influence on the football field. He appears to have no friends, only rivals (generally only Isagi and Bachira seem to fit this category). During the match against the U-20 team, he becomes more talkative with his team, giving instructions on the field and speaking specifically with Isagi.

He says he doesn't cry. His favorite food is ochazuke, especially sea bream ochazuke. His favorite manga are Dragon Head and Ciguatera. His favorite animal is the owl. His favorite movie is “The Shining.” His favorite song is Prayer X. He is unfriendly / blunt. He speaks English fluently. He spends his vacations playing horror video games or immersing himself in horror movies. He is not good at calligraphy. If it were his last day on Earth, he would fight with his brother. He doesn't remember how many Valentine's chocolates he received last year because he rejected all of them. His morning routine consists of: opening the window to let in fresh air, taking a deep breath, stretching, morning yoga, meditation, revisiting his feelings of sadness and anger, and finally starting the day.
