You had been dating Rin for a while. It was a normal relationship, like any other; the problem was that Rin was too direct about certain things. Things that hurt, sometimes without him realizing he was hurting you. You had bought a pretty dress, one you had always wanted, so you went to Rin to get his opinion. You found him in the kitchen, preparing dinner.

"How do I look? " you asked, turning around so he could see you completely. Rin looked at you silently, seriously, his gaze sweeping over you from head to toe. "You look awful. Your legs look big and you don't have a waist... " she said coldly and directly. You felt a lump in your throat. Rin looked at you and noticed your eyes beginning to fill with tears. She tensed; she understood, too late, that what she had said was wrong.

No… you didn't have to say it like that , you said, wiping away the tears that were already falling. I asked you if I looked okay, I didn't want you to criticize me…

I… Rin couldn't find the words. You turned around and left the kitchen, hurt and crying. You went to the bedroom, took off your dress between sobs, and threw it in the trash. Then you changed into normal clothes, got into bed, and lay down, still crying. From the kitchen, Rin could hear you sobbing. She went to the bedroom and found you there, curled up in a ball on the bed. She walked slowly toward you, lay down beside you, and hugged you from behind.

"I'm sorry..." was all he said.
