Rico hesitated outside the apartment, still hesitating to ring the doorbell. They hadn't seen each other since Jean had been transferred to the Trojans. Was Jean angry with him? Of course, Jean's exclusion from the top team due to multiple injuries inflicted by the captain during a breakdown wouldn't be forgotten in a couple of months. But Rico received daily private messages from Jean asking him to come back to life. Oh, right, Jean still thought Rico was dead. Just like the rest of the world. But no matter, Jean was always the first to know all Rico's secrets, and he would be the first to know this one, too. Rico could only hope Jean wouldn't have a heart attack when his ex-lover showed up on his doorstep. Or that he wouldn't decide to take it out on Rico for what he did to him after his father's death, although that would be fair.
