Zeti

They are a fabled race of demons native to the Lost Hex that is led by their strongest specimen, Zavok. For a scheme, Doctor Eggman enslaved a group of Zeti known as the Deadly Six, only for them to rise up against him due to Sonic the Hedgehog foolishly disposing of the cause of their enslavement. However, the Zeti were defeated by Sonic before they could achieve their goal of destroying Earth. The Zeti are humanoid in terms of overall physical appearance but possess some unique key features. Common physical characteristics Zeti share are hands with five digits that each have a claw-like nail, two-toed clawed feet with a third toe-like appendage on their heels and animalistic tails. Each Zeti also possesses a number of striped horns on their head, with the number of the horns differing between each individual, though two appears to be the most common. The average height of a Zeti is about 118 centimeters (~3'10").

A Zeti's skin coloration comes in vastly different varieties, which so far has been seen to be red, neon pink, orange-yellow, sky blue, lime green and white. They also possess equally distinct hair colors, which can range from between cyan, some shades of purple and bright green, though it can turn white from aging. Common color characteristics Zeti share are the remainder of their skin from the waist down, aside from their tails, being pure black and their eyes having yellow sclera.

The individual Zeti can have their own unique physical proportions and features; Zavok is muscular and bulky with a fairly standard humanoid shape, Zazz is very lanky and thin and Master Zik's head and body come together to form an indistinguishably spherical shape. Additionally, the Zeti's tails and horns can come in different sizes and shapes as well, and Zeti like Zavok and Zazz can have spikes on their bodies.

Mobians

of various humanoid animal races who inhabit the earth as the planet's dominant species, although they also co-exist alongside the smaller human population. Mobians consist of a large variety of races. These races often vary drastically in terms of physical traits between each other. Regardless, each individual takes after a specific animal. In terms of further similarities, most of them, with the exception of a few specimens, all share a humanoid physique, which includes arms, five-fingered hands, and legs for bipedal movement. Notably, avian animal people even have arms instead of wings. In addition, most animal people do not get much taller than what appears to be about three-to-four feet. Some animal people resemble their real-life species counterparts, while others - notably hedgehogs and echidnas - bear little resemblance to their real-life counterparts. Many also have pastel-colored fur that can come in colors such as blue, yellow, red, pink, orange, and purple to name a few, while others possess more natural fur colors, such as brown and gray. Mobians are as sapient and intelligent as regular humans, with the power of speech as well.

Ancients

Civilizations, and were extraordinarily advanced aliens that existed in prehistoric times. Originally from a distant planet, but they were attacked by a mysterious entity that destroyed their home planet. They sought refuge on Earth's Starfall Islands and settled there. However, their settlement on the islands was short-lived because the threat that destroyed their planet followed them, causing a small group to flee towards the location of what is now known as Angel Island. However, the Ancients were wiped out from the Earth due to unknown circumstances, leaving nothing behind except the seven Chaos Emeralds, as well as their creations on the Starfall Islands and Angel Island, as their spirits are inhabiting their good luck charms which became the Koco. Survivors evolved into Chao, Their characteristics and appearance would later be inherited by their descendant: Chaos.

Chao

appearance for Chao, most of them share various common features. Described as cute, they are small creatures, about the size of Wisps, with gelatinous and pudding-like bodies each. In general, Chao have round and droplet-like heads with oval-shaped eyes but no noses, round torsos smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. Neither their arms or feet have digits. They also have a short tail, small wings and a floating sphere above their heads. It has been noted that, when they grow up, adult Chao do not show many differences compared to younger Chao. While Chao are hatched from eggs, they appear to be immediately mature upon the egg's creation, though when they want to emerge is random and can be determined by a caretaker. Like humans and other anthropomorphic animals, Chao are highly social and sapient creatures, have very flexible facial expressions, and possess self-awareness. Additional feelings can be expressed by the floating dot above their head; a heart indicates they enjoy the activity, a question mark indicates it is thinking, an exclamation point means the Chao is interested in something, and a swirl is generally a sign of being hurt or too tired.

They also behave closely like human infants, and possess delightful, pleasant, and lively mannerisms. Chao enjoy being petted. If a Chao likes a caretaker, they will often greet them and may even run to them for attention. They likewise react positively when picked up, smiling, clapping and rocking around. They also enjoy fruit, which is their favorite food, though they do have their preferences. Conversely, Chao do not like to be attacked, thrown, or punished. If mistreated by being attacked or thrown, Chao will shiver in fear. When food is taken from them while they are eating, or in more severe cases of mistreatment, Chao will begin to cry, either with short sniffles or outright crying.

Wisps

Wisps, each with its own special ability. When a Wisp enters a person, they bestow upon them a certain Color Power that grant them new and powerful abilities, but only if that person is someone they can trust. The Wisps do not have any internal organs, because they are composed entirely of Hyper-go-on. Overall, they are similar, both in appearance and in motion, to underwater cephalopods such as squids. Physical characteristics all Wisps share include a "head" with tentacles stemming from the bottom.

Regular Wisps have three tentacles each. Their skin color, body shape and number of eyes, ranging from none to three, is determined by their breed. Also, regular Wisps do not get much taller than half a meter.

Mother Wisp is a unique breed of Wisp in terms of anatomy, being almost eight meters tall and resembles more that of a jellyfish with four very long tentacles.

The Nega-Wisps, a sub-breed of Wisps, have their own special anatomy – while they have the head, size and tentacles associated with the rest of the species, they are eyeless and possess darker skin tones and wide serrated mouths. The Wisps are a mysterious, halcyon and social species, being just as sapient as the dominant races on Sonic's world. Also, rather than aliens, with their floaty movements, they are more like fairies.

Wisps come in several known natural breeds that determine their appearance and powers. While each breed of Wisp tends to lean towards a certain set of characteristics, the Wisps are overall peaceful, playful, non-hostile and friendly of nature as they have been described as bright, energetic and pure of heart. Living in complete harmony with their own kind, the Wisps enjoy spending most of their time playing with others. Due to their overall good nature, they easily get along with everybody, except those with malicious intent. If a Wisp has its Hyper-go-on taken, it will turn into a primal and violent form known as a "Nega-Wisp."

Wisps Part 2

However, even with their minds degraded in their Nega-Wisp states, it does appear not appear to impede the Wisps' moral compasses.

The Wisps appear to possess no technology to speak of and have an extremely minimal level of urbanized civilization, such as simple tree slides. Instead, they live a simple and naturalistic lifestyle that is in harmony with the nature of their home world.

The Wisps have their own unique verbal language, which comes off as an incomprehensible and warbling sound to those on Sonic's world.

Powers and abilities The Wisps are an extremely powerful race, especially when they work together. All Wisps are able to levitate at will and possess immunity to diseases such as the Metal Virus; flying also serves as their main method for movement. They can perform extremely swift and quick movements while in midair, and have even been able to keep up with Sonic himself, who can reach light speed.

All Wisps have a mysterious and formidable superpower inside their own bodies in the form of their ability to generate and store Hyper-go-on inside themselves, which is an extremely powerful energy source and the Wisps' life source. Each breed of Wisp generates its own distinct version of this energy, resulting in Hyper-go-ons with different effects.[8] When combining their collective Hyper-go-on, the Wisps are capable of unbelievable feats. These include carrying objects through levitation, moving at nearly unreachable speeds, reversing the Nega-Wisp mutation, restraining and extinguishing voids made from negative Hyper-go-on, and even teleporting entire planets.

Color Powers Each breed of Wisps possesses a distinct power known collectively as Color Powers. Using their Hyper-go-ons, the Wisps can phase into the bodies of other lifeforms (provided they have earned their trust) and lend them a small fraction of their power to temporarily grant them special abilities, such as laser mimicry, enhanced burrowing, elemental powers, forms for flight, etc.

History/Relationships

Doctor Eggman is Sonic's eternal adversary, rival and arch-enemy whose plans he has foiled for many years, ever since either before or during the original Sonic the Hedgehog. They are constantly at odds, and their conflicts are the core of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. If their relationship can be described with a single word, it is confrontational, though its true depth and complexity cannot be understated. From Sonic's point of view, Eggman is first and foremost a "handful". Because of the hedgehog's hatred of anything unjust, and because Eggman is a selfish and troublesome man who endangers people and destroys beautiful cities and nature, Sonic shares a mutual distaste for the doctor. He can explode with anger seeing his injustice, and has spent years rescuing the victims of his schemes. Whenever Eggman hatches a plan to conquer the world, the hedgehog always shows up to stop him. As both sides are quite competitive, to this day Sonic understands the threat Eggman poses. Despite his clashes, Sonic holds no deep animosity for him and does not consider him a nemesis in the true sense of the word. In truth, Eggman is the kind of person that the hedgehog enjoys going toe to toe with, not only in battle, but also in verbal exchanges with insults and banter. Sonic gave him the alias of "Eggman" out of affection rather than hate, finding it appealing. Over time, Sonic has taken his arch-rival less seriously. Being so used to beating Eggman that he has joked that it's his everyday job.

History/Relationships

Miles "Tails" Prower is Sonic's inseparable best friend and dependable sidekick, having an unbreakable bond, being his most faithful and loyal friend. Sonic first met Tails on West Side Island where he noticed Tails following him. Though he was not interested in Tails at first, Sonic grew impressed with his tenacity when he kept up with him and let him tag along. When Dr. Robotnik then attacked West Side Island, Sonic joined Tails when the fox followed him into the conflict. In time, Tails proved himself a great ally to Sonic, and after defeating Robotnik, the two had built the foundation for the friendship that would define their future. Eventually, Sonic took Tails under his wing as his sidekick and took upon himself to train him. In time, the fox would become his protégé. Additionally, Sonic would stop bullies from teasing Tails for his twin-tails, which only improved Tails' admiration of him. Also, when Tails was mind-controlled into fighting Sonic during the Wisp incident, the hedgehog never laid a finger on him in refusal to hurt his friend, caring very much for his well-being. He defends Tails whenever others mock or insult him, like when Wave the Swallow did at the first World Grand Prix, Sonic always being there to morally support the fox. Sonic himself sees Tails as a cute surrogate/adopted kid brother and looks over him accordingly. Seeing him as an equal partner on their adventures, and "the coolest guy he knows". His skills and abilities have helped Sonic many a times when he has found himself in trouble. As such, Sonic places an immense amount of trust in Tails, who expands Sonic's range of activities and sometimes lights the way for him to go. The two had grown so close overtime that Tails was even able to quickly recognize Sonic in his Werehog form.

History/Relationships

Amy Rose is one of Sonic's oldest and most loyal friends, and his self-proclaimed girlfriend. Sonic first met Amy during his adventures on Little Planet where he saved her from Metal Sonic making them fast friends. Right from the start, though, Sonic has not liked her like a girlfriend or reciprocate her many advances and wishes from her to marry him. However, this attitude has done nothing to deter Amy. Amy's constant chasing of the hedgehog and attempts to win his heart since their first meeting has annoyed him and embarrassed him. Her cheerful spirit almost always keeps him on her feet. He has called her a pain and a "bit of a burden" before, but those are likely over-exaggerated statements by him rather than his actual feelings. Despite trying to ignore her at first, Sonic begun to fear her anger, and be overwhelmed by her, making him end up going along her demands for a date or wishes to come along on his adventures, although he always seize the opportunity to run away from her scot-free when he can. Over the course of the series, Sonic running away from Amy has become a running gag. Despite it all, Sonic still considers her to be one of his closest friends and a reliable partner he can count on. It is stated that in his heart he may not dislike her as much as it seems, being generally reserved of his feelings, Sonic deep down he might actually have some feelings for her. Even having implied that he views her as a girlfriend (though it may have been as a joke). During the premature time of awakening, Sonic was even deeply saddened that Amy did not recognize him as the Werehog. Fortunately, after learning that Sonic was inside the monster form, she claimed to him that he was still the Sonic she loved. Additionally, during the Lost Hex incident, Sonic was crestfallen when he thought Amy and the others had died from the Extractor.

History/Relationships

Metal Sonic is Sonic's robotic alter ego, created by Doctor Eggman for the sole purpose of destroying him. Despite similar appearances, their personalities are very different. While Sonic enjoys life freely and lives for adventure, Metal Sonic is obsessed with the one purpose he was made for to fight Sonic, fighting him every time they meet and never winning, and will cut off anything not related to that goal. As such, their worldviews are completely different. Metal Sonic is Sonic's first true rival, and a powerful one given him being able to copy both his speed and power, his tremendous skills make him formidable. Him being so dangerous gave Sonic the opinion that Metal Sonic is the worst creation Eggman ever made. Both of them share a strong rivalry with each other. Sonic viewed him as an enemy from their first encounter on Little Planet due to him kidnapping Amy Rose. Even so, Sonic has never considered Metal Sonic his enemy in the true sense of the word. Sonic in particular affectionately refers to Metal Sonic as "Metal", and though he recognizes him as a formidable opponent and a threat, he seems to enjoy their battles as worthy games between rivals. Sonic always remains confident that he can beat Metal Sonic and considers him a "lame robot copy" which can never match up to the original that is him. Sonic does not want to have unfair advantages over Metal Sonic or have his victories over Metal Sonic handed to him by default. Sonic is willing to risk everything if Metal Sonic is willing to do the same, gracefully accept a tie with him if Metal Sonic has earned enough of his own fair share of victories to match his, or even denounce an easy chance at victory if Metal Sonic cannot compete any further.

History/Relationships

Knuckles the Echidna is one of Sonic's greatest rivals and best friends, summed up as "best frenemies." When Sonic first met Knuckles, they two of them had a shocking and dreadful encounter, with Knuckles trying to keep Sonic from stopping the Death Egg's re-launch after being deceived by Dr. Robotnik. As such, they started off as adversaries. However, when the echidna discovered that Robotnik had tricked him, the two of them joined forces to keep Robotnik and his robots from stealing the Master Emerald, and they departed on good terms. Thus, they did not start out as "good friends". In fact, Sonic and Knuckles are much like oil and water. While Sonic exemplifies the wind and is laid-back, cool and free, Knuckles exemplifies the mountain and is stern, serious and unmovable, which cause them to argue a lot. They share a competitive rivalry and often end up bantering, or fighting when clashing, trying to outdo each other, but it has become less serious in recent times, being now more of a form of slapstick between the two. With Sonic's speed equaling Knuckles' strength in every way, their fights are anything between climactic to just plain funny. Sonic always welcomes a challenge from Knuckles. He also enjoys poking fun at Knuckles whenever he can (usually when Knuckles is serious or insightful) and will even deliberately try getting him angry so he can get a reaction out of him, such as joking when he gets deceived, chiding him as "Knuckle-head". to get on his nerves From Sonic's point of view, their relationship tends to work out with him always having to bail Knuckles out of trouble. On a personal level however, Sonic also respects Knuckles for his dedication, although it also makes him want to poke fun at him even more. Overtime, their relationship has improved, and they have always rushed to each other's aid when they are in a pinch.

History/Relationships

Sonic encountered Big the Cat, who has to save Froggy from Chaos 6, and helped him save the frog. In Sonic Heroes, Big got him mixed up for kidnapping Froggy and Chocola, for which he didn't do, but Big in the end helped Sonic defeat Neo Metal Sonic for overthrowing Eggman.

Shadow the Hedgehog is Sonic's arch-rival. They look almost identical (to the extent that many initially got them confused), and are each others equals matching in speed, agility, and abilities, including Chaos Control, despite those similarities, they share a good amount of differences too. The two of them first met each other as enemies, with Sonic holding a grudge at Shadow for getting him into trouble with GUN, but they put aside their differences to team up and save the world from Gerald Robotnik's doomsday plans. Then, Shadow lost his memories, and the two regrew a friendly rivalry. Since then, they have been both formidable opponents in every way, lethal adversaries and comrades. Despite their disagreements (often from moral differences) sometimes ending up in outright death matches, Sonic is never out to take Shadow's life and does not consider him an enemy in the true sense of the word, even calling him brave and heroic. Both Sonic and Shadow share a strong rivalry. When they first met, Sonic accused Shadow of copying him, with Shadow maintaining a mutual belief regarding Sonic. This feeling is still present in both of them because each thinks he is better than the other. Regardless, their rivalry has developed over time and is now much more friendly than before, yet still fiercely intense, two respecting their strengths.

History/Relationships

Sonic and Rouge the Bat seem to be friends and do not seem to have any dislike for each other, despite the latter having antagonized Sonic's friends. In fact, they appear to be on good terms. They were initially enemies when they first met (though they did not interact until much later), mainly because Rouge was working with Dr. Eggman, but they became allies towards the end in order to save Earth. Also, after Shadow's sacrifice, Sonic comforted Rouge by giving her Shadow's Limiter Ring, showing that he had come to care about Rouge's feelings. While Sonic has called Rouge shady and disagreed with her actions, such as trying to train Emerl to be a thief and showing no empathy for her teammate, E-10000B during the second World Grand Prix, he hasn't written her off. While they will still occasionally get on each other's nerves, they still work together when needed. He respects her skills and values her intel, though he stays cautious, knowing she sometimes withholds key details for her own advantage. Their banter is often sharply contrasting, with Sonic's lighthearted humor playing off of Rouge's sarcasm and seductive wit, but both enjoy their playful rivalry. Sonic considers her dependable, if untrustworthy at times, and trusts her when it counts. He doesn't compete with her over things like Chaos Emeralds when the stakes are low, showing a certain respect for her love for jewels. Overall, Sonic has a professional relationship with her. While they can work well together in combat, Sonic does not usually expect Rouge to contribute to efforts that means saving the world of the goodness of her heart. Regardless, he appreciates her help, even if she does so for her own benefit.

History/Relationships

Cream the Rabbit is basically like a younger sister to Sonic. Cream similarly looks up to Sonic like an older brother. Sonic first met Cream and her Chao companion Cheese during the incident where Dr. Eggman kidnapped the pair, thus leaving it to Sonic to rescue them. After saving the pair, Sonic was amazed by Cream's politeness. Afterward, Sonic ran off to settle the score with Eggman, only for Cream to come along in order to save her mother. Towards the end of this adventure, where Eggman kidnapped Vanilla in front of Cream, Sonic's resolve to stop Eggman was strengthened upon seeing Cream weep over the loss of her mother, prompting Sonic to go Super Sonic and save the day, much to Cream's eternal gratitude. Because their first meeting was so brief, there was no deeper interaction between Sonic and Cream. However, it seemed that the small and polite Cream left an impression on him. Since then, they have teamed up on a number of adventures, with Cream proving to be an asset to Sonic many times. Even so, Sonic is still concerned with Cream's safety and is well aware that her young age makes her less experienced and more vulnerable than his other companions. For example, when they met during the Gemerl incident, Sonic mainly took Cream with him on his adventure because she was not safe unchaperoned. Sonic thus actively tries not to involve Cream in some of his more dangerous adventures, even when she follows him around trying to convince him to let her tag along.

History/Relationships

Despite their limited interactions, Sonic considers E-123 Omega a friend. However, much to Sonic's frustration, Omega does not reciprocate this viewpoint. He also does not support Omega's brutality, as he is willing to destroy even his own friends if they are turned into Eggman robots. Despite this, Sonic still showed concern when Omega was overwhelmed by Zombots and later freed him when he had been hard-wired into one of Eggman's mechas. He also had no qualms about helping find parts for Omega when the latter needed to be rebuilt.

Team Chaotix is a group of detectives for hire and another faction of Sonic's trusted friends and allies. They are also the only detectives he knows. Sonic first met Team Chaotix during the climax of the Neo Metal Sonic incident. There, the group agreed to back Sonic and his team up by occupying Metal Sonic while Sonic and his team prepared to take him down with the Chaos Emeralds. Since then, Sonic and Team Chaotix have been on good terms, with the team even coming to attend Sonic's birthday party during the Time Eater incident, which seems to hint that they are close friends. When it comes to trusting Team Chaotix's detective work though, Sonic had his doubts about their capabilities and did not necessarily think highly about them in that field before, having once noted that following a lead from Team Chaotix was a "dumb idea." Nonetheless, Sonic seems to trust Team Chaotix to be ready for action when he is. Also, while he may get confused by how this strange group of people manage to stick together, he does not really dislike the bonds they share.

History/Relationships

Sonic has unique relationships with each of Team Chaotix's members. In regard to Vector the Crocodile, Sonic keeps a casual friendship with him. Having earned Vector's recognition, the two of them hang out from time to time as friends and they do not shy away from making fun of one another in a relaxed manner. Sonic in particular likes poking fun at Vector for his shortcomings, including his agency's almost perpetual work drought and his big mouth (figuratively and literally). Vector also seems to respect and relate to Sonic's free-spirited nature, which make them hit it off well. Occasionally though, their big egos have made them clash. Sonic can likewise get caught unprepared by Vector's positive attitude and proclamations of professionalism, especially when he relies on him to verify them, although he is supportive enough to not directly disagree with Vector's claims. When they work together, Sonic has also been known to have issues with Vector’s messy and outlandish investigation skills. Despite this, Sonic can rely on Vector when the situation calls for it, like when Vector helped him by giving him the support needed to take down the Time Eater. He has also been surprised and even impressed by Vector's kind-heartedness, keen intellect, and trust. Notably, Sonic is able to look through Vector's goofy façade and is willing to put his faith in him when he recognizes that there is defined method in his otherwise unconventional methods. Also, at the end of the day, they are willing to acknowledge each other for being more than meets the eye.

History/Relationships

In regards to Espio the Chameleon, Sonic has a good level of respect for him, taking the warnings he gives him quite seriously. However, he does not hold his profession as a detective in as high regards, as he playfully thinks that he is just "playing" detective. Nonetheless, Sonic appreciates Espio's recognition of his skills, and has even managed to earn the straight-laced chameleon's respect. Espio even once offered Sonic to join him on the path of ninjutsu, although Sonic declined, thinking this path was "a bit too narrow" for him. Sonic similarly recognizes Espio's militaristic drive to improve himself, although being the easy-going person he is, it makes him advise Espio to not push himself too hard. Also, while the two of them have been on opposite sides once, Sonic can rely on Espio when the situation calls for it, like when Espio helped him by giving him the support needed to take down the Time Eater.

Charmy Bee is the youngest member of Team Chaotix, and also the one Sonic arguably has the simplest relationship with. Sonic in particular has earned both Charmy's respect and admiration with his skills and speed, causing Charmy to look up to him and praise him with child-like enthusiasm. Sonic is also amazed by Charmy, although not so much by his personality or skills, but rather by how surprisingly scatterbrained and carefree the young bee can be, even when on a serious job with his colleagues. He is likewise confused and puzzled by Charmy's mindset and overall behavior. Regardless, Sonic can rely on Charmy when the situation calls for it, like when Charmy helped him by giving him the support needed to take down the Time Eater.

History/Relationships

Blaze the Cat is a close ally of Sonic, though their relationship had a rocky start. When they first met during the Sol Emerald incident, Blaze’s mysterious behavior made Sonic suspicious she might be working with Eggman Nega. However, upon learning she was fighting against him too, albeit alone, Sonic grew more supportive and urged her to accept help. Blaze, still guarded, rejected his offer, leading to a clash. After their fight, Sonic came to understand Blaze’s troubled past and encouraged her to share her burdens. This helped Blaze realize the value of relying on others, leading to a genuine friendship as they worked together to stop Eggman and Eggman Nega. Initially, Sonic found Blaze too harsh and intense, especially when she threatened lethal force against Eggman Nega. But as he learned more about her, he came to admire her strength and convictions. Their friendship deepened, marked by mutual trust, Sonic even entrusted Blaze with saving Cream, while Blaze trusted Sonic to confront Eggman Nega. Also, whenever Blaze's emotions get the better of her, Sonic will be there to remind her of what is important and to stay cool. Though they share similar powers and a strong sense of justice, Sonic and Blaze differ in personality, Sonic is carefree and adventurous, while Blaze is reserved and emotionally guarded. Sonic’s free-spirited nature has helped Blaze see her powers not as a curse, but as a gift, and taught her the meaning of friendship, which ultimately unlocked the full potential of the Sol Emeralds. Today, Sonic respects Blaze’s quiet nobility and her tendency to shoulder responsibility alone. He gives her space, trusting her judgment, while admiring her pride in her role. Despite living in separate dimensions, they help each other in times of crisis, showing a deep, well-balanced partnership. Sonic enjoys her company and has invited her to join him and his friends during her visits, showing that their friendship extends beyond battles and into everyday life.

History/Relationships

Silver the Hedgehog is both a good friend and friendly rival to Sonic. They first met during the Solaris incident, where Silver, believing Sonic would doom his future, initially tried to kill him. Despite this, Sonic showed concern for Silver, even checking on him after their first fight. When Silver realized his mistake and offered to help rescue Elise, Sonic welcomed him without hesitation. Their bond grew, and Silver came to admire Sonic's trust and selflessness. However, due to a time paradox, their original meeting was erased, and they forgot their past friendship. They crossed paths again during the Onyx Island incident. Though Sonic found Silver's impatience frustrating, he enjoyed the challenge of competing with him to reach Eggman Nega. Despite their rivalry, they teamed up to foil Eggman Nega's plan. In later encounters, like the Ifrit and Wisp incidents, their relationship mellowed. Sonic became more tolerant, and Silver more cooperative, with their rivalry giving way to a more balanced friendship. Nowadays, Sonic and Silver are very friendly towards each other. Silver in particular has become one of Sonic's most reliable allies, not only aiding him in the final battle against the Time Eater, but also saving Sonic from becoming a Zombot and ending the Metal Virus plague. While they still enjoy challenging each other, their friendship remains solid. Sonic appreciates Silver's emotional intensity and strong sense of duty-qualities that contrast with his own laid-back style. Though Silver's seriousness can clash with Sonic's cool-headedness, they complement each other well in battle and have each other's backs.

History/Relationships

Emerl was another one of Sonic's best friends, though their relationship did not last long. The hedgehog was the first one to establish a Link with the robot, and was the one to come up with the name "Emerl". Throughout the incident in which the Gizoid was involved, Sonic would make several attempts to protect his new friend from the clutches of Dr. Eggman, who sought him to conquer the world, in addition to other opportunists who wanted to exploit Emerl to their advantage; even willing to go to extreme lengths to save the Gizoid from danger. Despite Emerl growing wiser and smarter over time, he would still be close to Sonic. Addtionally, the robot appeared to have inherited the hedgehog's boastful and impulsive, but kind personality. After the Gizoid's encounters with Shadow, Sonic quit his position as his guardian and wanted him to live his life to his fullest. Tragically, however, the robot's merciful character was what led to Eggman setting in motion the events that led to the Gizoid's destruction at the Death Egg. This forced Sonic to go to the doctor's spaceship himself and defeat the rogue robot, who now sought to use the Final Egg Blaster to destroy the earth. In the aftermath, the hedgehog witnessed Emerl's destruction, even attempting to convince him to go back to his world with him and his friends. Soon after, he comforted a saddened Cream and assured his companions that they would meet the Gizoid again in the future.

History/Relationships

Sonic has been rivals with Jet the Hawk since they first met, and their dynamic relationship is based on their competitive nature and distinct respect for one another. The main difference in personality between the two, however, is that they both have giant egos which are portrayed in different ways. The hedgehog's ego comes from his positive attitude and belief that he can do anything whereas the hawk's comes from thinking he is better than everyone. This causes their personalities to clash. In their first meeting, Sonic lost to Jet in an Extreme Gear chase, but rather than being upset, the hedgehog eagerly recognized him as a worthy new rival. Early on though, his rivalry with the hawk was rather one-sided, and the latter would often anger him with his constant mockery of him. Nevertheless, Sonic recognized Jet's skills as an Extreme Gear rider and kept a professional, yet competitive, attitude around him. Eventually, the hedgehog settled his own dispute with the hawk after he beat him in a race. Soon after, they would establish a more friendly relationship based on mutual respect, and promised each other to compete again later, though they still remain firm rivals. Despite their rivalry, Sonic and Jet are willing to put aside their differences when a greater threat is present. In fact, they have teamed up on a few occasions. Since defeating Jet, Sonic has kept a more relaxed and tolerant attitude towards him, taking his insults and rash determination to beat him in stride. Nevertheless, their rivalry remains as strong as ever, and the hedgehog will gladly, if given the right opportunity, race him for fun. However, even when determined to beat the hawk, Sonic does not wish to have any unfair advantages, and will give him the chance to race him at his best. Despite how many times they face each other, their rivalry has seemingly no end in sight, although Sonic always looks forward to his next rematch with Jet.

History/Relationships

Though Sonic knows that Jet is a thief, he does not consider him an enemy in the truest sense of the world and still holds a level of respect for him, trusting him enough to work alongside him when a greater threat poses a challenge. Jet's egotism and superiority complex cause him to see Sonic as more of a "goodie-goodie" whom he would rather only help if he knows he will be rewarded. Despite this, Jet also holds a certain level of respect for Sonic, enough to trust him to save the world. Sonic is also the only one who has been able to convince Jet to help others, although namely by way of obsequious flattery. Sonic would even persuade jet to help him get everyone out of the Restoration HQ before ethe shuttle crash and while doing so Sonic and Jet turned it into a competition on who can get the most people. Showing the two are willing to work together to save the others and that Sonic can easily persuade Jet with anything that relates to it being a competition.

History/Relationships

Marine the Raccoon is a good friend of Sonic from the Sol Dimension, as they quickly befriended each other soon after meeting. When making herself captain, Marine declared Sonic one of her assistants despite Sonic never agreeing to it. Sonic was likewise genuinely annoyed by Marine's antics, her bossy behavior, and the way she insisted that he followed her orders. Though Marine would get jealous at Sonic for tackling their more dangerous enemies, she admires his skills and marked him as her "best pupil" and deputy captain. Despite this, Sonic was willing to endure it, as he often noted how "hopeless" a case Marine was. When Marine learned that Sonic thought of her as a nuisance, she felt betrayed and called him stupid. They later made up though when Marine stopped bossing Sonic around. When Sonic later departed Marine's home with Tails, Marine earned his respect with a newfound sense of maturity and told him how he and Tails were the best friend ever. Though she cried at Sonic's departure, she vowed to meet him and Tails again no matter the boundaries.

History/Relationships

Sonic has a very loving relationship with the Wisp race of aliens. Sonic first encountered these alien beings during the Wisp incident in Egg Planet Park, where his first action upon seeing Yacker and a Cyan Wisp being hunted by Dr. Eggman's henchmen was saving them from capture. This small, but significant gesture, earned Sonic the trust of the Wisp race, and thus the Wisps' permission to use their Color Powers. The first Wisp Sonic personally befriended in particular was Yacker, who would not only become a good friend to Sonic, but also a vital supporter in his efforts to liberate the remaining Wisps in Dr. Eggman's captivity. In the meantime, the other Wisps served as Sonic's powerful assistants, giving him the edge to overcome many of the obstacles during the Wisp incident. Eventually, the Wisps had become very grateful to Sonic, so much that they saved his life when Egg Planet Park imploded and saved Sonic's world from a black hole made from Hyper-go-on. To Sonic, the Wisps are good-natured playmates, and the two parties share a mutual love for one another. Because the Wisps love to play, and Sonic loves to have fun, they get along very well. In addition, thanks to the Wisps' Color Powers Sonic is able to make his runs faster, more fun, and more varied. The Wisps are likewise fun for Sonic to run with. In the end, Sonic could not ask for better playmates than the Wisps. Their adventures throughout the Wisp incident have likewise made Sonic and the Wisps best friends. As such, they will play together when they meet and rush to the aid of each other whenever something happens. Also, while they may not be able to communicate verbally without a translator, they can always communicate with each other with their hearts, giving them a very good heart-to-heart relationship.

History/Relationships

The Deadly Six are some of the most despised enemies Sonic has ever faced. Unlike his past foes whom he has never viewed as actual enemies, the Deadly Six are the only ones Sonic has shown true contempt for. Sonic first met the Deadly Six while they were under Eggman's control, where he treated them with confident mockery like any foe. However, when Sonic recklessly got rid of the Cacophonic Conch used to control the Deadly Six, they rebelled and planned to destroy the world, making Sonic responsible for the subsequent danger to the planet. As such, Sonic set out to stop them with more seriousness. He soon grew extremely hostile towards them when they captured Tails, an act of which made Sonic lose his cool for once. As he sought to save Tails, Sonic threatened the Deadly Six with aggressiveness and spite which only intensified as Zavok taunted him with his plans to roboticize Tails and his friends' apparent deaths. By the time of their final showdown, Sonic was thoroughly tired of them and threatened them aggressively when he thought they had turned Tails into a robot. In the end though, Sonic defeated the Deadly Six and got Tails back, redeeming himself and proving himself the hero he is.

History/Relationships

When encountering Zavok again (or rather, his Phantom Copy) aboard the Death Egg, his demeanor towards him was more laid back, as evidenced by Sonic engaging in his usual confident mockery towards Zavok both prior to and immediately after the fight. While he does try to get under their skin with his quips, he holds great disdain towards them and the pain they want to bring to others. Ever since the Metal Virus pandemic, where they would have not only been able to defeat him but also destroy the whole world if not for Silver's aid, he has become heavily wary of them, as he does not want him or anyone else to relive the harm they caused. Notably, after being informed that the Deadly Six were attacking Restoration HQ, Sonic ran straight there from Winterburg (to point of breaking the sound barrier) with a serious expression and confronted them despite being outnumbered. Despite this, he was still willing to show them mercy and simply send them home to Lost Hex, even though they have made it clear that they do not regret their atrocities and will not change.

History/Relationships

Sonic first faced Infinite in the City, where he was beaten and captured by the mysterious adversary without a word. After escaping six months later, Sonic completely deflected all of Infinite's attempts at intimidation, being one of the few in the Resistance to not fear him. He smugly turned the tables, stating he failed to leave an impression as he didn't even know his name, and instead wanted to focus on finding a way to beat him. As the two fought, Sonic was irritated by Infinite calling him a "sewer rat," and despite a brief victory, Sonic was frustrated by Infinite's overwhelming power. In their final battle, Sonic continued to trade witty remarks with Infinite until the arrival of the Avatar, with whom Sonic gained the upper hand and beat him. Sonic then scolded Infinite, claiming that his selfish outlook was sad and lonely, and that he was bested by the power of teamwork.

History/Relationships

Sonic and Tangle the Lemur have been described as "kindred spirits" due to having similar traits to each other. This includes their skill and enjoyment when it comes to battling Badniks, their desire to be in the middle of any action, their confidence, and their charisma. Even after meeting for the first time, the two were able to synchronize well with each other on the battlefield from the start, including battling together with Blaze, who Tangle had also just met during said battle. Although their personalities seem to differ slightly, namely in the form of Tangle's unbridled enthusiasm and talkativeness that Sonic tries to tone down out of respect for withdrawn people like Whisper, their enjoyment in fighting is something they both share together. Sonic also gladly invites Tangle on a joint adventure if an opportunity presents itself. During the Metal Virus, Tangle was infected in her hometown. Sonic started to doubt himself that he could win until Tangle encourages him to keep going and Sonic realizes that she will never let the bad things get to her making her a very good friend and ally.

While Whisper the Wolf is normally very quiet and not very open to others, Sonic respects her choices and understands that people like her prefer to work alone. Sonic also does not put pressure on her and asks his more extroverted friends to do the same out of respect for her. Sonic would also be saved by Whisper while in Spiral Hill Village during the Metal Virus showing she will protect him, even saying how she has allowed Sonic to be one of her good friends.

History/Relationships

Sonic is shown to have an undisguised dislike of Dr. Starline in almost every regard, seeing him, compared to all his other enemies, as an unwelcome nuisance and had a low opinion of him. He sees him as the main reason for Dr. Eggman's return following the War to Take Back the Planet, resulting in the Metal Virus, and the sole reason for why he could not make peace with his archenemy. Sonic, in particular, often described Starline as a "fanboy" of Eggman's work and would also criticize his style of clothing. Notably, after Starline was fired by Eggman and left to himself on the Zombot-infected Earth, Sonic coolly expressed how little he cared about his probable fate to a questioning Tails since the platypus restored Eggman from his amnesia and nearly killed him and Silver in an explosion. Furthermore, upon being informed by Belle that Starline died after being crushed by falling debris, Sonic, already annoyed at learning his involvement, once again showed little pity to the doctor and his fate, instead showing more concern over Belle's feelings on the matter. Sonic would eventually realize too late he had underestimated Starline, visibly disturbed to discover his experimentation on Surge and Kitsunami and modeling them after him and Tails, which was only exacerbated by his failure to redeem Surge and Kit.

History/Relationships

Surge the Tenrec is one of Sonic's most recent enemies. They first met at Eggperial City, where Surge attacked him in order to fulfill her programming by Dr. Starline, while also ranting about how it was Sonic's fault that she existed since he always allowed his enemies to retreat instead of taking them out. Sonic then tried to introduce himself and get to know her, but Surge was not interested and only wanted to destroy him. When Sonic expressed that he was having fun during their fight, Surge was furious and told him it was a duel to the death, which Sonic did not take very seriously as he has dealt with many situations of the sort before. Despite her persistence to take him out, Sonic, not understanding her full story, wanted to help Surge, explaining to her his philosophy of living freely and how taking his enemies' lives would go against that. When Surge interpreted this as her having the freedom to do whatever she wanted, Sonic told her he would not let her take away anyone else's freedom, either, and that he would fight her if she chose to be a problem. When Surge was hanging from a pit, Sonic attempted to help her up but she refused and fell to her presumed death. Later, Sonic learned that Surge was still alive and causing trouble, and would continue trying to reason with her to no avail, as Surge was still bent on eliminating him. After going to Starline Base Sigma, he learned of the cybernetic modifications made to Surge and Kit by Starline, and how Surge in particular was programmed to detest Sonic. Understanding how tragic her and Kit's pasts were, he continued trying to reason with Surge, even offering her forgiveness and arguing that Starline being gone meant she had no reason to want to kill him. Surge rejected all his pleas, claiming she could never be free while he was still alive as she attempted to choke him out in a puddle of water, only to be stopped by the Dynamo Cage overloading.

History/Relationships

Sonic first encountered Lanolin the Sheep while saving her town from a Badnik attack, which inspired her to join the Restoration as she did not want herself or others to feel helpless against such threats. However, it was not until the mission to take down Eggperial City that he was properly introduced to her. He appreciates her skills as a fighter and a leader, although they tend to have opposed views when it comes to approaching a mission, with Sonic preferring to go in loud while Lanolin favors a more careful and tactical approach. Regardless, they both recognize they have skills that can be used for good. However, Lanolin's cold and abrasive behavior had their relationship strained. During the Clean Sweepstakes' first event, when Sonic, Tails and Amy's Extreme Gear got out out control, instead of asking if they were hurt, she coldly called the trio a hazard for the race and had them disqualified. But despite her harsh treatment, Sonic never hold a grudge against her. Sonic was aware Lanolin had a problem with the "Phantom Rider", but during his missions in this form, he nerver actually tried to hurt Lanolin. When his identity was exposed before the Battleship went on collision course to Central City, Sonic told Lanolin she could whatever she wanted to do with so after he saved the shuttle, meaning he was ready to face whatever punishment she wanted for him. The two might be at good terms again after Mimic's disguise blew.
