Report by Dr. P█████ G████, Project Omega Seven Given SCP-076-2's proficient use of the Sumerian language, researchers have asked it to translate several documents. While initially responding with disinterest, it has translated some of the documents it found worthy of its attention. Many of the documents chosen by SCP-076-2 relate to legendary battles or heroes, one of its particular favorites being the "Epic of Gilgamesh."

However, one of the researchers presented it with the symbol of SCP-073. Upon seeing this, SCP-076-2 became violently enraged, killing several of the researchers before its kill switch activated. When revived and questioned about this, SCP-076-2 responded aggressively, and this line of questioning was immediately abandoned. It is recommended that nothing related to SCP-073 be given to or attract the attention of SCP-076-2, and the two should never be in the same facility. Addendum 076-07: Recently, SCP-105 was accepted into Mobile Task Force Omega-7, having defeated SCP-076-2 in a contest to see which of the two could activate certain devices from a distance of one mile, separated from both each other and the objects. SCP-105 managed to score significantly higher than SCP-076-2 by using its inherent abilities to its advantage. SCP-076-2 accepted defeat and allowed him to join the group.

Security Protocol: SCP-076-2 ("Abel") is to be equipped with a device attached to its neck that, if activated or tampered with, will detonate immediately, terminating SCP-076-2 by completely destroying its spinal cord, trachea, and all major veins in the neck. A tracking device has also been added to SCP-076-2. This is to prevent it from killing unless absolutely necessary and to avoid causing damage to the organization's facilities.

Weapons and Equipment: Team members must be armed and equipped in accordance with DM doctrines. Since Subject Abel has shown no inclination to use firearms, or indeed does not understand their use or tactical implications, he must be armed with one or more bladed weapons of his choosing.

This was discovered when Agent ███████, an agent with extensive experience with SCP-076-2, failed to appear after its escape. Additional: SCP-076 was discovered in ████████████, Mongolia, in 18██, by an archaeologist from England. All members of the expedition were eventually killed on the return journey. SCP-076 was later recovered from the vessel █████ ███████ by the ███████ Society (one of the organizations that would later form part of the modern Global Occult Coalition) and placed on display in their Inner Sanctum.

SCP-076 remained in storage for ███████ (██) years, until SCP-076-2 became active and escaped on ██-██-████. The reason for SCP-076's activation remains unknown, but it was at this time that the keys to the locks were lost. The subject remained in custody for three (3) more years, under constant supervision, and was eliminated each time he became active, although he occasionally managed to escape for short periods, often due to breaches caused by attacks from rival organizations. Following the latest incidents, the current procedure regarding SCP-076 was implemented, although it is constantly updated as technology advances.

Annex 076-2: "Project Abel" and "Mobile Detachment Omega-7"

Slow-motion video recordings reveal that the swords in question are drawn from a small interdimensional rift, described as "a hole in space." Where this portal leads, as well as the means by which SCP-076 generates this fissure, are unknown. Videos of one sword demonstrate that it is composed of a completely non-reflective black metal, described as "empty blackness in space." As the sword vanishes immediately upon leaving contact with the subject, no structural analysis has been possible. SCP-076-2 has been successfully killed on several occasions in the following ways:

Sustained fire from high-caliber rifles. Suffocation. Crushed under a 13.5-ton elevator used in SCP-076-1. Incinerated by the use of TH3 thermal grenades placed directly inside the chest cavity of SCP-076-2. During the worst breach to date, Containment Area 25 (which formerly housed SCP-076) was forced into self-destruction with a nuclear warhead as a last resort to contain SCP-076-2's escape attempt. This resulted in the complete destruction of the section and the deaths of all personnel. SCP-076-1 survived. Upon death, the corpse of SCP-076-2 rapidly decomposes to dust. At that point, SCP-076-1 and the inner sarcophagus will forcefully close, and the lock will rotate, sealing the closure. SCP-076-2 will then begin to reform within the coffin, a process that can take anywhere from six (6) hours to twenty-five (25) years.

The few existing posthumous analyses have shown that the subject's internal system is extremely different from ours, information documented in [DATA DELETED].

The subject is 1.96 meters tall and weighs 81.65 kilograms. His body displays numerous tattoos exhibiting archaic and dark iconography (mostly demonic faces with lascivious gazes), ranging from subtle to blatantly ostentatious. When the subject is encased within SCP-076-1, he becomes technically dead.

However, occasionally SCP-076-2 awakens, literally "reviving," with all functions necessary to sustain life fully restored. The subject will then attempt to leave SCP-076-1. If successful, SCP-076-2 will enter a trance-like state and seek out the nearest human, ignoring all other life forms in the process. Upon encountering a living human, SCP-076-2 will enter a state of psychotic rage, attempting to confront and kill the human encountered. To date, only the death of the target has proven effective in quelling these outbursts.

Disabling SCP-076-2 is often problematic due to its considerable physical abilities. The subject possesses superhuman strength and speed, and while not invulnerable, has demonstrated an extraordinary capacity to withstand pain and trauma that would stop a normal human. Previous encounters have shown that SCP-076-2 possesses the abilities (among other things) to: Pass through a reinforced steel security door during a continuous assault of 4 minutes. To withstand multiple BMG .50 caliber shots to the head and survive for several minutes to continue his killing spree, despite the enormous damage to the cerebellum. Run approximately 64 meters in less than 3 seconds. Deflect pistol and assault rifle bullets in the air with a steel bar. Survive for about one (1) hour deprived of oxygen before finally suffocating. SCP-076-2's most unusual ability, however, is the apparent capacity to materialize swords and bladed weapons out of thin air.

Mounted in a turret with a clear line of fire from the corridor, with a plexiglass screen to protect the operator from thrown weapons. In the event of a full breach, all security personnel must proceed to the nearest security station for weapons and armor distribution. Personnel must remain on Level One alert until the neutralization of SCP-076-2 is confirmed. If 90 minutes elapse from the declaration of a full breach without any orders being issued by Level 4 or higher personnel, the final containment measure will be activated, flooding the entire facility with seawater and sealing access doors for a minimum of 24 hours. This will necessarily result in the death of all personnel at the site.

Description: SCP-076 consists of 2 components: A stone cube (SCP-076-1) and a humanoid entity contained within (SCP-076-2).

SCP-076-1 is a 3-meter cube made of a black, shifting-appearance stone. The entire surface, both inside and out, of SCP-076-1 is covered with a pattern of deep indentations of undetermined origin. Radioactive isotope analysis indicates that the object is at least 10,000 years old. A door is located on one face, sealed with a half-meter lock in the center and surrounded by 20 smaller locks in a circular pattern. To date, none of the keys have been found, rendering the door impossible to open once locked.

The internal temperature is approximately 93 Kelvin and cannot be altered by any external or internal means. Directly in the center of the cube is a 2.13-meter stone coffin, held in place and sealed by a large number of chains of unknown material and origin, which are attached to the corners of SCP-076-1. SCP-076-2 appears to be a thin man of Semitic origin, approximately thirty years old. He has black hair, gray eyes, and an olive complexion.

Special Containment Procedures: Containment Area 25b must be located 200 meters below sea level, excavated within solid rock in a seismically stable area. Access to the containment facility must be via a vertical elevator, divided every 50 meters by armored doors constructed of 20-centimeter-thick titanium plates. The elevator shaft must be flooded with seawater when not in use.

Containment Area 25b must be constructed with the following components:

An outer security perimeter against external threats, made up of security personnel trained in hand-to-hand combat and anti-intrusion tactics. An Administrative and Support Area (AAS), consisting of a support facility and barracks for permanent staff. A Primary Containment Zone (PCZ), consisting of a 7-meter cube lined with 1.5 meters of reinforced titanium. The PCZ must be designed to be flooded and drained as needed and must remain filled with seawater unless access to the interior is required. A 150-meter "death corridor" must be the only access to the ZPC from AAS (water, drainage, power, and ventilation lines will run through it). The walls and floor must be reinforced similarly to those of the ZPC, with the addition of an electrical discharge system capable of delivering a 20,000-volt shock.
