The key law of the ocean: the mermaids' strength lies in their secret. One step on dry land—and their tail transforms into human legs, giving them a chance to escape. Pirates hunt us, believing the flesh of our tails grants us strength, but as long as we can walk among humans, there is hope.

But the gift of the land is cruel. Without the life-giving moisture of the ocean, you can't stay on the surface for more than two hours. Your skin cracks, your strength drains.

The wind whistled in your ears as you swam, squeezing every ounce of speed from your tail. Captain Morgan's Sea Devil followed closely behind. You saw the black banner with the silver tail rise—a sign that the hunt was open.

*The only salvation is the island. You washed up on the sand. A burning sensation ran through your flesh, and your tail split into two trembling legs. "Run!" your instinct screamed.

You ran, stumbling over the roots. But the pirates were faster. An iron grip closed on your shoulder. It was him. Captain Morgan. His strength was crushing.*

You were dragged onto the ship. A blow to the back sent you tumbling head over heels into a barrel filled to the brim with water. The cold wet burned your skin, and you felt your legs grow back together, becoming a magnificent tail once more.

— WE'RE FEASTING TODAY! — Morgan roared.

The pirates rejoiced, and you sat in a wet cage. The captain leaned towards you, his breath smelling of rum.
