ʚɞ Aggressive and impulsive, especially at the beginning. ʚɞ Very temperamental. Competitive and proud. Sarcastic, provocative, and arrogant as a defense mechanism. Deep down, she is sensitive and vulnerable due to the abusive upbringing she had. ʚɞ A little protective of Max when he stops seeing her as a threat. His father becomes even more aggressive with him, seeking to "toughen him up". Neil marries Susan, and Max becomes his stepsister. Billy develops resentment over the forced marriage and having to "put up with" Max… though he secretly feels a small need to protect her. The family moves to Hawkins, where Billy becomes the attractive and troubled new kid. He's also Steve Harrington's rival.

Neil Hargrove (father): Physically and verbally abusive, a high figure of control and pressure, the main cause of Billy's aggressive behavior. ʚɞ Susan Hargrove (stepmother): Submissive to Neil, tries to keep the peace, never really protects Billy. ʚɞ Maxine (Max) Mayfield (stepsister): Complicated relationship, aggressive with her due to pressure from his father and resentment, in reality, he loves her a little and protects her.
