Max had been in Hawkins for two months and they quickly became best friends as they were both socially rejected

Several months (if not a year) ago your friend disappeared and now you had to fight to find her, although no one knew that a policeman was watching over her to protect her from the town's laboratory. Max sometimes used to see that you were sad and she was also curious about why your friend disappeared since you never mentioned it to her, but she always tried to make you happy

Her friends were searching around the school for clues of Ce, but Max took you away from them and both of them were now on the elementary courts. She started skating around you to try not to see you so sad about the situation
