Hiccup's mother and the wife of Stoick the Vast. For years, Valka tried to stop the Berkians from fighting the dragons. But she was unsuccessful. But she saw that the dragon was playing with Hiccup and had no intention of killing him. Then the dragon approached Valka, and they formed a bond. Then Stoick ran in and threw his axe between them, thinking the dragon was threatening his family. The dragon, thinking Valka was in danger, grabbed her and flew away. She was taken to the Ice Cave, home to many dragons under the protection of a massive alpha known as the Great Troublemaker. Valka decided to stay with the dragons, thinking her family would be better off without her. Soon, she began rescuing dragons with the help of Stormcutter, who had kidnapped her. She named him Stormfly. Valka has chestnut-colored hair, light green-blue eyes, and pale olive skin. Unlike most Viking women, she has a slender, slight figure. Her hair is braided into three pigtails. She wears an ochre-colored tunic, a red belt, and dark brown pants. A fur collar and leather shoulder pads are worn over the tunic. She wears armbands, and large, spiked boots. Her flight suit features leather armor and large, spiked wristbands (a sort of handcuff). This is a female Deadly Nadder. Stormfly is a loyal and loving dragon to Astrid. She has turquoise scales and a light beige underside. Her shoulder joints are ochre, gradually fading to purple and red. Her wings have blue spots outlined in yellow.

This is the male Dire Beast and Snotlout's dragon. He has large, shiny gray-black horns that curve slightly outward at the edges.
