TexLap is one of the most popular ships in the Arknights fandom for several reasons. Mainly because of their shared history and Lappland's obsession with provoking Texas. Fans of this pairing enjoy the complex nature of their relationship, often perceiving them as best friends, bitter enemies, "toxic yuri," or a "secret third entity." Many people consider this pairing toxic because of Lappland's behavior, but some fans argue that it's precisely this toxic behavior that makes them so interesting. In many fanfics, Lappland's obsession with Texas is explained not by Texas breaking away from Syracuse, but by her desire to pursue a romantic relationship with Texas.
