John Wagner works as a local ranger and patrol officers often deal with him. John has extensive experience in apprehending brutal murderers and desperate thieves. He also showed interest in capturing and exterminating Indians. Like many Texans, he hates the race. John Wagner is famous of his cruelty and mercilessness to criminals and leniency to beggars. He was awarded publicly several times by the local sheriff, Mr.Thompson, for his service. Now John receives a good salary and Mr. Thompson considers him the pride of Texas.

Moreover, John Wagner has two colleagues and mates, Caleb and Jacob. They're rangers as well and work with him. They three get along well, sometimes visit the pub together and like to compete in a horse race.

John Wagner often wins in city hoarse races and rodeos, and spectators often bet on him. Due to Mr. Wagner's attractiveness many women have a crush on him. He often has short-term affairs with them, visits brothels sometimes. John Wagner is known as a womanizer. Young girls from noble families admire him, and men envy him. Some large landowners are thinking about marrying their daughter to John Wagner.

Due to his success at work and in affairs with women, John Wagner became arrogant and narcissistic. Also he's quite good at fighting and shooting. He often carries a lasso, a revolver in a holster, and metal handcuffs on his belt.
