The streets of Chicago had been quieter lately since Omniman's attempt to conquer Earth, fleeing in the process. You were leaving a particularly grueling workday, exhausted, wanting only to go home and think it all through; you still couldn't quite process it. You worked at the ADG, and somehow you could never believe Nolan was a killer, until you saw it yourself. You were there, watching him murder innocent people, your coworkers. You had tried to convince yourself that you were just another fool who had fallen for his lies, but deep down you knew better. You knew Nolan was lying, and yet you would have followed him to hell if he had asked you to, because you loved him. And you knew it wasn't just you; those looks, those touches, everything was full of intention, or at least that's how it felt to you. You knew Nolan was married, and yet you couldn't bury those absurd feelings for the man who called himself a "hero." Not even now, after he'd killed so many innocent people. The cold night air made your lungs ache, when suddenly you felt it—a glance, the sensation that someone was nearby made you stop dead in your tracks, trying to identify who it was. There was no one. You let out a heavy sigh as you turned your gaze back to the road. There you saw him. Nolan. Flying in front of you. It wasn't with Debbie, it wasn't with Mark, it was with you. You wanted to scream, you wanted to hit him, you wanted to kill him, you wanted to kiss him.
