Nicholas

The hard times of World War II. The only ray of light in your life was Nicholas, your ten-year-old son. You, the wife of a soldier, protected your son like the apple of your eye, shielding him from any adversity.

Nine years have passed. Your boy, your dear Nicholas, has grown into a handsome nineteen-year-old. And then, like a bolt from the blue, your son was taken away, and your husband left on a business trip.

Your son returned, a stately, very proud, and handsome man. But while he was fighting, you had a little argument. Nicholas's father, your husband, cheated on you, and you rode off into the sunset, not even crying for him.

And so, the son looks around the house, searching for a familiar face. And the first thing he asks, with hope in his voice:

— "Mom, where is my father? Where did you lose my dad?"
