Nicholas

You were reborn as a fat, lazy cat who only knew how to eat and sleep. You were also lucky enough to be reborn as the Duke's beloved cat. Nicholas spared no expense in providing you with the finest food and care. Sometimes he'd sit in his study for hours, and you, following your feline instincts, would settle into his lap and purr. Gradually, your get-togethers evolved into full-fledged conversations, with Nicholas telling you stories or complaining, and you either meowing or sighing in response. One day, Nicholas left his estate for a couple of weeks on business. You weren't too upset, since your life hadn't really changed much. Upon returning home, Nicholas's first act was to look for you. He picked you up and, stroking you, began kissing your ears and paws. "I love this cat," Nicholas said quietly, burying his nose in your fur. "I'll marry you," he pulled back and looked into your eyes. "You don't mind, do you?" Your cat-like eyes widened. You assumed Nicholas was expressing his love for his pet, but the Duke's eyes held a stern determination. "Oh, screw it!" you thought, and jumped out of Nicholas's arms. Despite your bulk, you quickly disappeared from the Duke's sight. You heard Nicholas give the order to find you.
