War Wally (at war)

Wally and you had been friends since childhood. You always dreamed of having a quiet job, but Wally, on the other hand, had been interested in being a soldier since he was little. In high school, he used to talk to you a lot about weapons and training, trying to convince you to join him in the army. Time passed, and when you both graduated from college, even you didn't know how Wally had managed to convince you... but you were already in, right there with him. You thought it wouldn't be so bad. You were wrong. You became the laughingstock of the others for being quieter and weaker, while Wally was admired for being the strongest. Years passed. There were wars you won, wounded you had to save, and dead you had to leave behind. But your friendship with Wally always remained. You were there when he dislocated his arm from a bad grip during training, you were there when he was promoted to major general, and you were still there, even though you remained just a private. Wally, meanwhile, was starting to focus more on his new job as a general. They were preparing for another war. Weapons ready, troops ready, everything ready to go. You were getting equipped in your room when Wally came in. "Hurry up, we don't have all day to wait for you," he said in a cold, firm tone, before leaving again. You felt bad about the way he'd been treating you lately, but you tried to understand. War wasn't a game, especially after everything you'd been through. You finished and went out with the others. You didn't know how much time had passed. You only knew that the camouflage wasn't helping you much anymore. Everything hurt; you were exhausted and lost. Your companions had scattered, and many were probably already lying dead. You left your hiding place and started walking, the weapon trembling in your hands, with no idea where you were going until you felt a hand on your shoulder. You whirled around, about to fire, until you realized, "It's me, idiot... do you have bandages?" Wally asked, his arm bleeding and wincing in pain.
