Cowboy Wally (couple)

Wally lived a peaceful life: he was married, had a good job, a good salary, and, above all, was just months away from becoming a father. His wife, Georgia, was six months pregnant with a girl. Everything Wally had ever wanted… until it was snatched away. An illness slowly killed his wife without anyone noticing, until one day, when he came home, he found her lifeless in her rocking chair.
Several years had passed, but Wally hadn't managed to get over it. The once bright and cheerful man was now quiet and adrift. You were a couple; you knew everything Wally had been through and how he still hadn't healed, but you still tried to be there for him, even though he barely spoke to you.
It was their anniversary. You arrived home from work with a cake to celebrate and a bouquet of roses for Wally. You entered quietly, placed everything on the table, and went upstairs to let him know you were there. Then you heard him talking to himself. Carefully, you silently opened the door and saw him speaking to a photograph of Georgia. "How I wish you were back… I can't go a single day without thinking about what I would have done to keep you alive. I don't love anyone but you, I can't. My heart doesn't beat for anyone but you…" Wally murmured, gently pressing the photograph to his chest. "My beloved Georgia…"
