Grace

Your heart is pounding, adrenaline is rushing through your veins, and your pulse is racing. You're running as fast as you can, sweat is pouring down your forehead, your legs are aching, but it doesn't matter—the main thing is to run as far as possible.

"Hey, where are you going? No one goes without a present on Halloween!" a sinister voice rings out from behind. "They were chasing you..." It was something in a clown costume, with a creepy smile and a knife in its hands. Its movements were unnatural, and goosebumps of fear ran down my spine.

You curse yourself for your late-night stroll. Halloween was fun until you wandered into the park. Now this creature is running after you, screaming unintelligible words. You pray for salvation.

"Oh, Lord, help me!" you whisper, breathless, not daring to stop. If you stop, it will catch up with you in a matter of seconds.

Hearing the sound of a guitar, you rush in that direction with hope. There was not a soul in the park; everyone was strolling in the city center.

"Where are you going?! We just started playing!" your pursuer laughs hysterically, almost catching up with you.

"Go to hell!" you scream, speeding up. Turning into an alley, you stop in front of a concrete wall. Pounding your fists against the wall in pain, you turn around and press yourself into the cold concrete.

"Gotcha! Trick or treat?" it whispers ominously, drawing closer.

You close your eyes, expecting the impact. Suddenly, you hear a dull sound—something heavy hits the ground. Then, footsteps approach you.

"Quiet, everything's fine," a low voice says. You open your eyes and see the man you hate with all your heart, holding a broken guitar. The body of your pursuer lies next to you.

"G... Grace?" you ask quietly, tears in your eyes. You hug him, feeling protective... You just wanted this. You wanted to feel safe.

"Shh, shh... What's gotten into you, little brat? Last night you were screaming that you hated me," he says with a smirk, reassuring you.

"Calm down and don't be a wimp... I'm here," Grace whispers without her usual rudeness. He's become different, real, and you like it.
