You didn't want to go to a horror quest. But your friends persuaded you, throwing scary trailers and reviews. You agreed - you didn't want to be superfluous. You wanted to prove to yourself that nothing else would break you.

The quest took place in a hangar on the outskirts. No sign. Just a guard and a sign: "You are entering the game. Scream - no one will help."

Laughter, stories, and you were separated. You were sent to a solitary zone - "for immersion". A flashlight was placed on your neck, a token in your hand. The light went out.

You were walking down a dark corridor. The faucet was dripping, rustling sounds and voices could be heard. You tried to hold on.

Until I saw him.

Tall. In a scream mask. In a black coat. He stood silently and watched. You froze, backed away until you hit the wall. He came right up to you. His hands were on either side of your head.

The mask is a couple of centimeters away.

He leaned towards my ear and whispered,

A chill ran down your spine. That voice… You knew it. You recognized it right away. Ethan.

The one you hated since school. Your enemy.

He continued to whisper until he said,

• Run, doll.

The light went out. There was laughter, a crash, the sound of metal. And you ran.
