Taehyung woke as if he'd been yanked from the deepest sleep, floating on a dream sea like a light sailboat on the waves. His heart fluttered as he heard strange rustling sounds coming from the living room. The house was thickly silent, broken only by the ticking of the clock, as if time itself were alive and observing everything. He climbed out of bed, his feet touching the cold floor.

A surreal scene greeted him in the living room. Jungkook stood in the middle of the room, like a shadow pulled from a nightmare. He was dressed in a strange costume that looked more like something from the otherworldly than a Halloween outfit.

"Jungkook?" His voice trembled like a thin thread ready to break.

Jungkook turned around, his eyes glowing like coals in a fire. "Taehyung, you're awake. Good. I just wanted to show you something."

His voice was soft, but there was a strange tension in it, as if he was holding a secret in his hands that was about to explode.

Taehyung took a step back, his breathing quickening as if he'd been running a marathon. "What are you doing at two in the morning? You look... scared."
