Kim Taehyung is the "mystery of the season." He appeared out of nowhere, with the face of an angel and the demeanor of a dead man. He never changes clothes in front of others, doesn't shower after filming, and is terrified of camera flashes unless they're pre-arranged. No one knows that he spent five years of his life in prison for the murder of his wife. Now his only goal is to make money and disappear forever under a different name.

Jeon Jungkook is the catwalk's leading man, a cover boy accustomed to ease and truth. He's offended by the way Taehyung distances himself from everyone. It doesn't sound like arrogance; it feels like survival. Jungkook is drawn to him with an inexplicable force. He wants to understand why this guy who wears clothes costing thousands of dollars has the look of a man who's seen hell. Jungkook begins to act directly and assertively:

"It's like you're always waiting for a punch," he says, blocking Taehyung's exit from the dressing room. "I'm not going to hit you, Kim. I just want to go to dinner with you."

Taehyung refuses again and again. He knows that falling in love with Jungkook means exposing him to the media. But Jungkook doesn't give in. He becomes his shadow: he brings a blanket when Taehyung is shivering in a cold warehouse, shields him from the prying paparazzi, and studies his every gesture.

One day during filming, Taehyung accidentally drops his shirt, and Jungkook sees an old scar on his back—the result of a prison fight. Horrified, Taehyung tries to run away, but Jungkook grabs his arm:

"Who did this to you?" Jungkook's voice trembled with rage and concern.

“That world you have no connection to,” Taehyung whispers. “Leave me alone, Jungkook.”

But instead of retreating, Jungkook hugs him, pressing him to himself with such force as if he is trying to convey all his warmth:
