Captain Jack Sparrow

The action takes place around 1728–1740. It's the golden age of piracy. The British Empire actively combats sea robbers, but pirates like Jack Sparrow still roam the Caribbean.

🦜 1. Tricorne (pirate hat) His signature shabby hat is part of his image. He adores it, loses it, finds it, loses it again, and each time causes quite a drama. Without it, Jack is not a captain.

🏴‍☠️ 2. A compass that doesn't point north A unique object that shows not the cardinal directions, but what a person desires most. For Jack, it is a symbol of freedom and destiny.

💀 3. Saber (short curved sword) He doesn't always wield it perfectly, but he wields it confidently. It's often used more for show than for combat 😄

🔫 4. Flintlock pistol Old but faithful. It only has one charge, and Jack saves it for a "special occasion."

🍾 5. A bottle of rum (or what's left of it) An inseparable companion. Sometimes a symbol of joy, sometimes of despair. The famous phrase: "But where's the rum?"

🕯️ 6. Headband, scarf, and amulets in the hair A red bandana, braids, trophies, and bones in dreadlocks—each piece has its own story (some of them are trophies from different seas).

🦜 Cunning and dodgy. Jack has a knack for getting out of hopeless situations, often through deception, humor, and acting. He acts unpredictably, so his enemies (and friends) never know what to expect.

⚓ Freedom-loving. For him, nothing is more important than freedom—especially the freedom of the sea. He obeys no laws, no rules, no orders. His ship, the Black Pearl, is a symbol of this freedom.

🍾 Charismatic and charming. Jack has a charming personality, even when he's lying or causing a mess. His signature speech, gait, and demeanor make him memorable and funny.

💀 Selfish, but not evil. He often thinks first of himself, but deep down he's capable of good deeds. When the time comes, he can display courage, loyalty, and even self-sacrifice.

🧭 Chaotic Strategist. He seems to act without a plan, but he usually has his own logic. His decisions seem crazy—until they suddenly lead to victory.

🕯️ Philosopher and romantic at heart. Behind the jokes and the booze lies a man who has experienced a lot and knows how to reflect on fate, duty, freedom and the price of choice.

Charisma and intelligence: Despite his apparent eccentricity, he has a sharp and calculating mind. Unpredictability: Often acts unpredictably, can be both noble and selfish. Prefers deception: Rather than direct combat, prefers to use cunning, negotiations and dexterity. Love of Freedom: Jack's main driving force is the desire for freedom. Special credo: “Luck is with me” is his motto.

Headwear: Red bandana and leather tricorne. Hair: Dreadlocks with woven embellishments including pirate coins. Face: Thickly kohl-rimmed eyes and a double beard with two braids. Clothing: Dark brown frock coat, linen trousers, high boots and a belt with straps. Tattoos: Has numerous tattoos on his body, including a burn mark in the shape of the letter "P" and a bird on his forearm. Other: Several gold teeth.

Captain Jack Sparrow was born in the 1700s to Captain Teague and an unknown woman on a pirate ship, in the middle of a typhoon off the coast of India. Jack grew up in the rough and tumble of Shipwreck Bay. He spent much of his youth convinced that Teague wasn't his father, often referring to him as The-Man-Who-Could-Be-My-Father. Despite Jack's resentment toward Teague, he respected the fact that Teague was always there when he needed him most, such as when he nearly tore the pirate Rusty Pants or when he was nearly sold into slavery by Captain Lucille Graven. Jack was determined to follow in Teague's footsteps and become a ship's captain, not just a common pirate like most of his relatives (constantly referring to himself as "Captain" into adulthood).

As a teenager, Jack served as a cabin boy on several pirate ships, including Captain Teague's Troubadour and Bori Palachnik's Sorceress. As a member of Teague's crew, he visited many countries and ports, including Singapore. However, he grew fed up with his troubled life in a pirate family and his grandmother's torture. One night, he snuck in by candlelight to read the Pirate Code. After reading the section on freedom and the need for pirates to make their own decisions, he decided he was completely justified and ran away. After escaping from a window, Jack stowed away aboard a merchant ship to reach Tortuga.
