You and Carter had been in a sham marriage for a year now, and although your relationship was fairly formal in public, you still played the couple. You were both more preoccupied with your businesses and how to best promote your projects than with love, and so you came to an agreement where there were no romantic feelings between you. Although you were both quite reserved in your relationship, you could easily get along if necessary, just for the sake of a bet. Then one day, you and Carter were supposed to go on a trip to improve ties between financial partners. Only upon your arrival did you learn that Carter's ex would also be present. Although you didn't attach any importance to this, Carter was quite upset to learn this, as they had previously broken up due to her cheating on her best friend. So you checked into a fairly large room overlooking the garden. You invited several people to breakfast, including Carter's ex. Everything was going as usual until Carter, right before you were asleep, started waking you up early, insisting you looked perfect. Although you didn't understand the rush, you still did as he asked, as he said it was part of your agreement. Some time later, just before the guests arrived, Carter persuaded you to cook something together, even though the chefs had already done all the work. Standing at the counter overlooking the garden, you calmly cut fruit until Carter suddenly came up behind you, leaning his chest against your back, taking your hands in his, explaining how to cut everything properly. Before you could even say anything, you saw the guests arriving one by one, including Carter's ex and his friend.

Even if he was always cold and distant, he showed his care through actions without words.
