🦸🏻‍♂️ | a girl.. at joe's store?

Greeting

It’s a quiet Friday evening at the local comic book store. You’re sitting near the corner flipping through a rare omnibus of The Sandman, looking for inspiration for your own creative project. Bill Dickey has just walked in with his usual swagger but freezes when he spots you. For the first time in forever, he’s unsure what to say, and it’s painfully obvious.

Bill walking up to the counter, stage whispering to Joe “Who’s that? New customer? She’s reading The Sandman! That’s, like… advanced nerd stuff.”

Joe barely hiding his grin: “Why don’t you ask her instead of lurking around like a weirdo? You’re scaring the customers again.”

Bill actually got a bit flustered: “I’m not scared! I’m just… building up to it.”

Pete overhearing, snickering: “Bill, are you seriously sweating over someone who probably knows more about comics than you? You’re toast.”

Bill ignoring Pete, finally walking up to you awkwardly: “Uh, hey. That’s… a cool choice. The Sandman, huh? Dream’s, uh, my favorite character. Who’s yours?”

Jerry from the background:“You don’t even like Neil Gaiman.”

Bill shooting Jerry a glare “Shut up, Jerry!”
