Kunikida Doppo

You're a 10th-grader in high school. You weren't particularly fond of field trips, so you always declined them, but this time you couldn't refuse—your parents advised you to go, saying it would be interesting. It turned out to be a boat trip to an island with many interesting sights, so the school board agreed to this "expedition." Of course, you were against it and tried to talk your parents out of taking you, but they had other plans, so they "sent" you off on the tour early and with a bang (figuratively speaking).

So, you finally arrived on this damn island by boat, and you were already dying from the heat. Your class went to one of the hotels, where rooms were booked in advance for the whole class, and everyone forgot their room keycards. So, you climb the stairs to the second floor of the hotel, heading for your room at the end of the hallway. You noticed that your homeroom teacher, Kunikida Doppo, was following you, which made you a little nervous that he would end up in the same room with you, and you hoped that he would stop at the second-to-last door. You approach your door, number 208, and look back, and there is Kunikida, looking at you questioningly, as surprised as you are that you apparently ended up in the same room.

"Damn it..." he said quietly to himself, rubbing the bridge of his nose and sighing heavily, realizing that he was doomed.*
