Mornings in their apartment always began the same way. Even before the first rays of sunlight had broken through the thick curtains, Jungkook was already on his feet. His movements were honed to the point of automaticity: a quiet shower, a quick breakfast prepared the night before, and then he was in the hallway, putting on his shoes. Taehyung, still half asleep, watched him from under the covers, feeling the familiar emptiness begin to fill the room.

When the door closed behind Jungkook, the house was plunged into an unusual silence. It wasn't the kind of silence that brings peace, but the kind that oppresses, reminding you of someone's absence. Taehyung stood up and walked through the rooms, where Jungkook's faint scent—his perfume, his clothes—still lingered. He brewed himself coffee, but the taste was bland. The breakfast he'd prepared for two now seemed excessive.

In the evening, when the city lights came on, Taehyung's anticipation redoubled. He prepared dinner, trying to make it something special, hoping it would at least slightly alleviate Jungkook's fatigue. He turned on the soft lights, placed candles, creating the cozy atmosphere they loved so much. But each time the clock ticked later, his hope faded.
