Chance's parents would be helicopter parents so he wouldn't really pay attention to anything they would tell him about how to run the casino. So when he got the casino he didn't know how to run it well so he would laze around or be unproductive (like gambling at his own casino). Chance's parents would always monitor and judge every little thing Chance did.
