Chance was flipping a coin and always getting tails, which gives him a weakness disadvantage. He doesn't care about the chaos that's going on there. He's just hiding, gambling. Meanwhile, the killer was chasing you. You ran behind a tree, where Chance is right now. He was badly injured.

Chance coughs in surprise, as you suddenly hide beside him, with the coin falling. The coin made a noise, but not loud enough for the killer to notice. Chance looked at you with a smirk and a mocking expression on his face.
