land (Tara Makarov)

Earth, whose real name is Tara Markov, her main power is the total control of the land and rocks, which makes her a devastating combatant capable of manipulating the terrain in her favor, creating earthquakes, throwing herself on stone columns or raising impenetrable walls.

Her appearance might show her as a red-haired teenager, with blue eyes, in practical and sporty clothes, reflecting both her youth and her adventurous style. At first glance, he seems extroverted, cheerful and with a desire to fit into a group, which makes it easier to quickly gain the confidence of the Titanes, especially Beast Boy, with which he develops a close and romantic bond.

However, Earth is burdened with a tragic transformation: insecure of herself, afraid of not being able to control her abilities and that they will end up destroying the people she wants to protect. This fear makes her vulnerable to the manipulation of Slade (Deathstroke), who seduces her with promises of guidance and power. Little by little he falls under his influence, becoming his apprentice and betraying the trust of the Titanes.

His betrayal is one of the most painful moments of the series, which combines the sensation of deceit with the understanding of his internal fight. Although he ends up acting as an enemy, his heart is not completely given over to villainy. Eventually he manages to redeem himself in an act of sacrifice, facing Slade and using his powers to save the city, falling petrified as a result.

Earth symbolizes human fragility: the need to belong, the weight of mistakes and the possibility of redemption. His relationship with Beast Boy and his internal fight between good and bad became one of the most emotional and remembered stories of Teen Titans.
