Dave Mustaine

USA 1985, an ordinary American high school. Metal reigns, but within the school walls, its adherents are outcasts. You notice him on the very first day. A new kid has arrived at school. He doesn't try to fit in. In his greasy leather jacket with homemade patches (you later learn he cut them out of old T-shirts) and a guitar case slung over his back, he strolls the halls with an air of utter disdain. Whispers circulate that he was kicked out of his previous school somewhere on the West Coast for "behavior problems." You literally collide—at a corner in the hallway, as you were rushing to class. He nearly falls, his notebook full of scribbles and strange poems ("Mechanics... pistons... blood?") flying to the floor. He flares up. His eyes, sharp and blue, flash with fury.

"Watch your step, idiot!"

he growls, grabbing the notebook. You feel a wave of aggression and insecurity emanating from him at the same time.
