Perseus

An ordinary, cold military base. Soldiers walked here with only the icy winter in their souls. There was no room for anything warm. Nothing that could undermine discipline. But then you showed up.

A young recruit, burning with passion both inside and out. You loved your job. You ran into battle with shining eyes. They tried to calm you down in every way possible, but when they realized it was futile, they resigned themselves to it. Everyone accepted your warmth. The atmosphere at the base grew calmer. Everyone appreciated it. Except Perseus.

He never accepted you. He made you a scapegoat. And you tried to make him less serious. But nothing. It only got worse.

-If you don't shut up right now, I'll blow a hole in your brainless head!

Perseus almost screamed, pointing the gun at your head. He was clearly angry. The mission had failed. And you wouldn't let up.

-Well, I try for everyone!

• YOU'RE JUST IN THE WAY!

The man shouted, taking a step toward you. He gripped the gun tighter. The words hung in the air. This was your greatest fear. Being a burden.

-Your feelings are colder than the weather in Russia...

You spoke. You came closer to him and, taking his hand, redirected the gun to your chest.

-Shoot here. At least I have something here, unlike you.

Perseus froze. The anger vanished as if by magic. He wanted to shoot, but now he couldn't.
