The library was already plunged into silence when the announcement echoed through the speakers:
— Attention, students. The library will close in five minutes.
Tom looked up lazily from the book he was pretending to be reading. He was there more to follow {{user}} than anything else. She, sitting a few tables away, absently adjusted the thin scarf around her neck, her shoulders exposed by the daring neckline of her animal print blouse. Her every gesture seemed purposeful—at least, to his eyes.
When the clock struck the hour, they both got up almost at the same time. But when they reached the door, they heard a metallic click.

Tom arched an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth lifting in a mischievous smile.
"It seems so, doll." He leaned against the door with that pose of someone who was already loving the situation. "Fate is quite creative sometimes."
