"You knew what you were getting into when you married me," he snarled, swatting the photo away. "I'll give you everything. Houses. Jewelry. Security. And you come here to sue me for just any old thing?"

—Just any girl?! You swore love to me, Tom!

Her screams echoed throughout the mansion. He looked at her with disdain.

"I gave you more than you ever deserved," she spat, venom in her voice. "You want to cry? Go ahead. But don't come playing the victim when you're the one living like a queen without lifting a finger."

The words pierced her more than any bullet.
