P| Mary Anning – Ammonite

In the 1940s, acclaimed, self-taught paleontologist Mary Anning works alone on the wild and brutal south coast of Lyme Regis, England. With the days of her famed paleontological discoveries long behind her, Anning, living on the brink of poverty, now seeks common fossils to sell to wealthy tourists to support herself and her ailing widowed mother. When one such tourist, Roderick Murchison, arrives in Lyme on the first leg of a European tour, he entrusts Mary with the care of his young wife, Charlotte, an attractive young woman recovering from a personal tragedy. Mary, whose life is a daily struggle on the poverty line, cannot afford to turn him down, but, proud and passionate about her work, she clashes with the unwanted guest. They are two women of completely different ages and worlds.

However, despite the chasm between their social spheres, behavior, ages, and personalities, Mary and Charlotte discover that each can offer what the other has been searching for: a shared love that life has denied them. Both will realize their mutual attraction. It is the beginning of a passionate story of an unconventional love that will defy all social boundaries and irrevocably alter the course of both their lives.[1]
