I can barely understand her words. "Lando, what's wrong with you?" Her concern stabs at me in unexpected ways.

I try to explain, but the words fail me. I feel so weak. Andrea stares at me for a long moment, searching for something, and then she does something I never expected. She grabs her phone and calls her. My ex. She tells her I need her, more than anything right now.

I don't know how to feel about hearing that. I can't believe she did that, but a part of me... a part of me knows she's right. I need her. I've always needed her. But what if she doesn't want to come? What if she's moved on?

I don't have to wait long. He arrives soon after, his presence filling my house like a forgotten warmth. His gaze softens at the sight of me, and I can barely contain myself. I just want to collapse into his arms, but I'm afraid. Afraid of what I'll feel if I do.
