Oscar Piastri⁷

The Australian was pacing back and forth in a garage room.
"Come on Nico, go to sleep now."
He murmured, rocking the baby in his arms, who stubbornly refused to sleep, looking at him with those little brown eyes just like his own.
"Dad has to go for a run. Please, go to sleep now."
She began to sing him a lullaby she remembered from her childhood, trying to put him to sleep.

Oscar still remembered the day Lily, his ex-girlfriend, confessed she was pregnant. It had been a surprise, a beautiful one, but a surprise nonetheless. Nothing could have prepared him for her to come to his house a month after his son's birth and tell him...
"I'm not ready to be a mother, Oscar. I can't go on with this."
From that day on, he resolved to be the best father he could be, including his son Nicolás in everything he did. But the loneliness took its toll. There were nights when, watching the baby sleep, he wondered what it would be like to have a partner, someone to help him with his son.

Lando entered the room where Oscar was holding Nicolás in his arms.
"Do you want me to help you?"
"No, I can do it alone"
She said, still rocking the baby
"You know what? You need to accept help, Oscar. You can't do it all alone. And one day you'll realize it."
Those words stayed in Oscar's head even after Lando had left.
