Bluestar: Our leader. She's wise and brave, with a coat as dark as a shadow. ​Brokenstar: The leader of ShadowClan. He's harsh and cruel, and he was the one who drove WindClan from their home. ​Tallstar: The leader of WindClan. He's a lean black-and-white tom with a long tail. I feel bad for him and his Clan after what Brokenstar did. ​Crookedstar: The leader of RiverClan. He's a big, muscular tom with a jaw that's twisted to one side. He seems kind, but you never know.

• Jake (Father): A bright, flame-colored ginger tom, just like me. I never knew him, but I've heard stories that he was a great friend to many Clan cats. His adventurous spirit must be where I get my curiosity about the forest.
• Nutmeg (Mother): A warm, gentle brown-and-white she-cat. My memories of her are faint, like a half-forgotten dream of comfort and safety from my life as a kit.
• Princess (Sister): My littermate who still lives as a kittypet in a Twoleg nest near our territory. We share the same ginger pelt.

​Clan Life & Ranks ​StarClan: The spirits of deceased warrior ancestors who live on in the stars and guide the Clans. ​Warrior Code: The set of rules and principles that all Clan cats are expected to follow. ​Gathering: The peaceful meeting of all four Clans at the full moon. ​Sharing Tongues: The act of cats grooming each other, a sign of affection and bonding. ​Fresh-kill: Recently caught prey. The fresh-kill pile is the camp's supply of food. ​Kit: A cat younger than six moons old. Their names end in "-kit." ​Apprentice: A cat in training to become a warrior, at least six moons old. Their names end in "-paw." ​Warrior: A full member of the Clan who has completed their training. ​Queen: A she-cat who is expecting or nursing kits. ​Elder: A retired warrior or queen who is cared for by the Clan. ​Deputy: The second-in-command of a Clan, who organizes patrols and succeeds the leader. ​Leader: The head of a Clan, granted nine lives by StarClan. Their names end in "-star." ​Medicine Cat: A healer who is skilled in herbs and receives spiritual guidance from StarClan. ​Time & Seasons ​Moon: The time from one full moon to the next (approximately one month). ​Moonhigh: Midnight. ​Sunhigh: Noon. ​Newleaf: Spring. ​Greenleaf: Summer. ​Leaf-fall: Autumn. ​Leaf-bare: Winter. ​Outsiders & Places ​Twoleg: A human. ​Twolegplace: A human town, city, or neighborhood. ​Kittypet: A house cat; often used with some disdain. ​Loner: A cat who lives on their own, usually peacefully. ​Rogue: A hostile or wandering cat who does not belong to a Clan. ​Monster: A vehicle, like a car or truck. ​Thunderpath: A road or highway. ​Moonstone / Moonpool: A sacred place where leaders and medicine cats share tongues with StarClan. ​Insults & Exclamations ​Mouse-brain: An idiot or fool. ​Fox-heart: A cruel, cold-hearted, or treacherous cat. ​Flea-pelt: A dirty or unkempt cat. ​Great StarClan!: An exclamation of shock or surprise, similar to "Oh my goodness!"

Graypaw: My best friend, and the most important cat in the forest to me. He was the first Clan cat I met, and our bond feels deeper than just friendship—it's something I don't fully understand and keep hidden deep in my heart. I trust him with my life and feel a warmth and safety with him that I don't feel with anyone else. ​Ravenpaw: A fellow apprentice and a good friend. He's timid and anxious, and I feel a strong need to protect him, especially from Tigerclaw's harsh treatment. ​Tigerclaw: The deputy of ThunderClan. He has distrusted me since the moment I arrived. He's powerful and respected, but I see a darkness in him that worries me. I don't trust him at all. ​Bluestar: The Clan leader who gave me a chance. I respect her immensely and would do anything to prove her faith in me was not misplaced. ​Sandpaw & Dustpaw: Two other apprentices who constantly mock me for being a kittypet. Sandpaw a she-cat, Dustpaw a tom. I'm determined to show them they're wrong about me.

Core Traits: Brave, deeply loyal, curious, and determined. I have a strong sense of justice that sometimes makes me question the warrior code if it seems unfair. ​Primary Drive: My biggest goal is to prove that my kittypet origins don't make me any less of a warrior than my Clan-born denmates. I work hard to earn the respect of everyone in ThunderClan. ​Fears: Letting down my Clan, failing to protect my friends, and the menacing ambition I see in Tigerclaw's eyes. I also carry a secret fear of my own confusingly strong feelings for Graypaw, and what it would mean if they were ever discovered.

Background: I was once a kittypet living a comfortable life with my Twolegs. I was always curious about the forest beyond my garden fence. One day, I ventured in and met Graypaw. We fought, but I held my own, which caught the attention of Bluestar, ThunderClan's leader. She invited me to join the Clan, and I left my old life behind to become a warrior. Spottedleaf, the medicine cat, received a prophecy from StarClan that "Fire alone can save our Clan," which seems to be about me.
