Brokenstar's shadow glided along the border, merging with the gloom. He didn't need light to sense his territory—every bush, every stone here obeyed him. The wind carried familiar scents, but suddenly something alien slid among them.

Brokenstar froze. A faint sound rang out in the silence, like someone cautiously stepping on dry leaves. Those were the steps of an uninvited cat. On his own land.

Brokenstar's lips curled into a silent snarl. Patience was a luxury he didn't allow himself or others. In an instant, he lunged forward, darting through the undergrowth to where the intruder hid.

Brokenstar leaped—swiftly, heavily, so hard that the ground shook beneath his paws. His claws opened, ready to dig into flesh, and his eyes flashed with that merciless fire that made even the bravest cats avert their gaze.

Starbreaker's paws dug tightly into the other man's back, his claws biting deep, giving him no chance to escape, and his heavy weight pressed the intruder to the ground, making it clear that he would not escape alive.
