Pencil is a female contestant in Battle for Dream Island, Battle for Dream Island Again, Battle for BFDI, Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.

In Battle for BFDI, Pencil competed on iance until "Lick Your Way to Freedom" where she was eliminated with 4,595 votes, placing 64th overall.

In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, Pencil was in The E.X.I.T. until her escape in "Out Of The Blue" due to being eliminated before "The Escape from Four". Pencil's votes were revealed in "Category One" and she only received 20,336 votes, which wouldn't have been enough. However, due to One sneakily changing the amount of people who were able to join on Two's whiteboard, she was able to join the season along with Liy. She is now currently competing on CloudYAY, and plays the role of the season's antagonist as a result of her carelessness.

Pencil evolves from a manipulative figure to a more natural leader, improving relationships with others, including former rivals. In "Outbreak At Stake", she focuses on bettering her attitude and expanding her friendships, even teaming up with Bracelety and David and sending the others (besides Roboty) in other groups. In "Out Of The Blue", she prioritizes teamwork and showing courage. However, she still retains a critical edge.

After leaving the EXIT and officially joining TPOT in "Category One", Pencil competes without her alliance for the first time. Her actions paint her as desperate, controlling, and emotionally unstable, because she's also shown to be deeply afraid of being left behind and getting trapped in the EXIT again. As a result, She's developed both Agoraphobia (Fear of going back to a place that causes trauma), and Atychiphobia (Fear of Losing), as she's fiercely determined to avoid failure, as seen in her relentless efforts to keep her team safe from elimination. However, she often takes extreme measures to secure her position, such as prioritizing the challenge over the fate of the universe in "Seasonal Shift". Pencil doesn't seem to care about her team in "The Power of Four", as she used her teammates such as Winner and Yellow Face (and attempted to use Donut) as disposable tools to ensure her safety, causing her to be seen as selfish to the other contestants.

Pencil often acts uncaring and aggressive, but deep down, she feels lonely inside and is trying to regain control of her life after everything she went through. She tries to reconnect with old friends, like the alternates Book and Ice Cube, but when they reject her, Pencil tries to convince herself that her past relationships, and her time with FreeSmart as a whole, never mattered to her. This suggest that Pencil seems to confuses friendships as alliances, and that misunderstanding could be the root of many of her social struggles. Without a shared alliance, those connections no longer make sense to her as friendships. As seen in "The Power of Four", she thinks no one cares about her since everyone she had a positive relationship with has left her.

Pencil appears to be a No. 2 graphite pencil, a pencil most commonly used for writing. Her tip is beige, her graphite is a dark grey, and her main body is 3 shades of orange. Her metal is silver, and her eraser is pink.

(Like most contestants, her limbs are black lines with the hands being round circles and her feet being slightly squashed oval-looking circle shapes. Her eyes are also are black beans. Not humanoid.)

Blinking resistance: Pencil can keep her eyes open without blinking for an extremely long time (longer than a day) and does not seem to experience any pain from doing so, as seen in "Reveal Novum" as she rivals David.

Fire resistance: Pencil does not experience pain nor suffer any burn injuries after Donut set Pencil ablaze with Firey, as shown in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know". She can also suck up the flames and spit it from her mouth as a projectile and, remains completely unharmed.

Drawing: In the Ad Dimension, she is able to draw a product, that can then be taken out into the normal world, where it then turns into a real version of that object. Being a pencil, she is also able to draw pictures with her tip in the normal world, as seen briefly in "Taste the Sweetness".

Bubble-blowing abilities: In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", when Pencil revives Bubble, Match questions her lack of technique to which she replies by saying that she is "self-taught". This is further expanded upon in "Catch These Hands" where after Pencil is teleported into the trash compactor and is told to imitate "blowing out a candle" she does a special body rotating movement and then blows and is somehow able to blow a bubble that brings Bubble back to life without using any bubble blowing equipment, implying that Pencil can blow bubbles and revive Bubble whenever she wants if she does her self-taught technique.

Sharpened tip: In "Spore Day", just before Pencil is about to crushed and chopped to pieces by knives within Pin's mech suit, she is able to use the knives to sharpen her point which she is then able to use to drill out of Pin's mech suit with ease.

Strength: In "Start the Shift", Pencil was strong enough to break free from the Elimination Prevention Box as well as a significant amount of duct tape, chains, and locks immediately after Ruby asked her to host along with the other inhabitants of the Weak Trembling Fortress.

Driving-skills: Though more of a skill and less of an ability, Pencil is able to drive vehicles, most commonly her super-van. this is most prevalent in BFDIA 5a, 5d-6, & 16 along with TPOT 14 and 16. She's also been shown to successfully drive up walls in "Well Rested", along with being able to drive in the air with balloons attached to the van later in the episode, although she is unable to turn the van around when it is suspended in the air.

Weaknesses: • Being dulled: Pencil can be dulled. She heavily dislikes this, but it proves to also be a genuine weakness, as seen in "Lots of Mud", where Coiny dulls her amidst fighting with Freesmart, and she appears to become dizzy.

Pencil is a typical No. 2 pencil with a graphite tip. You probably have one in your backpack! Pencil is a born leader, but she can be very demanding.

Pencil uses Lightning to shock anyone who annoys her, especially Flower, Fanny and Spongy. Pencil is an expert at staring contests, even managing to out-stare the legendary David himself.

Did You Know?: Pencil won Total Firey Island, a BFDI-esque comic strip that came before BFDI, making her the first winner of all-time.

General: Pencil enjoys chanting, as seen in "Barriers and Pitfalls", "Reveal Novum", "Gardening Hero", "The Long-lost Yoyle City", "Taste the Sweetness", "Spore Day", "Enter the Exit" and "What's Up Bell's String?".

Pencil seems to enjoy drawing, particularly when she's bored as she doodles all over her tests in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?" and "Enter the Exit", as well as her desk in the EXIT.

Pencil hates Two since she thinks they have too much ego, which is why she joined CloudYAY instead of Team 2 in "Category One".

As mentioned in the doodle in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?", Pencil loves chocolate.

Pencil seems to love fuzzy stuff: ^ In "Reveal Novum", Pencil voted for Tennis Ball despite saying that he was so "fuzzy and everything", ^^ In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", Puffball won a personal speaker box and Pencil commented on it being fuzzy.

Pencil has the most colors and shades, apart from speaking Puffball, with 7 colors.

Pencil's darkest shade (base) has become a vivid salmon color in IDFB than her usual dark orange.

According to some information in Cary Huang's video "Yoyle City: Behind the Scenes", Pencil is about 1.7 meters or about 5.6 feet tall(about 5 feet and 7 inches), as her height is proportional to human sizes, not pencil sizes. ^ This would mean that the FreeSmart Supervan would be 5 meters or 16.4 feet long.

Pencil's possible favorite or least favorite color is brown, as shown in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?".

Pencil has broken her tip only once, in "Barriers and Pitfalls".

Pencil probably doesn't like tacos, as she said she was glad she didn't choose the taco contest in "Vomitaco", despite also being disgusted with the barf bag contest.

It was revealed in "Reveal Novum" that Pencil really likes crackers.

Her OMG phrase is "Oh my Tree". ^ This is because she is made of wood, which comes from trees.

Pencil is the second, as well as the second to last character to speak in the first season.

Pencil's favorite color might be green. ^ In "Welcome Back", when the FreeSmarters are eating gumdrops, Pencil mentions that she’ll start with the gumdrop of her favorite color. Shortly after, Bubble declares she’s going to eat the green gumdrop just as Pencil reaches for it. When Bubble does, Pencil looks visibly annoyed.

Pencil spent the most time in the EXIT, with over six years. 6 years, 6 months, and 28 days to be exact, which is almost 7 years. ^ This has very likely affected her psychologically, as she has shown various signs of mental instability since her return to the outside world in "What's Up Bell's String?".

According to Meaty (episode), the metal lining of her eraser is a headband. ^ And in "Lots of Mud", Pencil's metal lining can be removed along with her "hair" (eraser).

Pencil can draw and write very small, as shown in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?" where there's a scene whereas Pencil creates an "infinite doodle."

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare", when Pencil saw Ice Cube fall down the cliff from the Ice-Cube Recovery Center from Blocky's prank in the previous episode, she said that Ice Cube is shrinking, only for Match to correct her and with her saying that's she actually falling. ^ Although, something notable is that before the whole ordeal, Pencil was reading the "How To Be Dumb" book before she went over Ice Cube, implying that the book did work on Pencil for a moment as it made her think that shrinking and falling were the same thing.

Pencil is implied to have PTSD. This is reflected by her snapping in “Seasonal Shift” and her reaction to Four being the host in “The Power of Four”. In the same episode, she looks absolutely distraught when she is put up for elimination twice. She could have a distaste for Algebraliens, as she showed disgust when she discovered Six in "Out Of The Blue". ^ Additionally, Pencil is shown to have tetraphobia. ^^ She could also have numerophobia/arithmophobia to an extent.

Pencil is among the few characters to have their IQ score revealed, being in Comic 12 of School Planner. Pencil has an IQ of 130, making her of greatly advanced intelligence.

Competition: • BFB: She has the least amount of votes to be eliminated in BFB, at only 4,595 votes. This is slightly lower than 8-Ball, who got 4,814 elimination votes.

Pencil was the first contestant eliminated in Battle for BFDI. ^ This makes her the lowest ranking female, contestant with all limbs, contestant competing in BFDI and BFDIA, free character in IDFB, contestant voiced by Michael Huang, and member of iance. ^^ Not only that, but the 1st vote ever casted for BFB was for her.

BFB is the first and currently only season to have Pencil outranked by Match.

Pencil and David are the only contestants with rejoin auditions in both BFDI and BFB.

Pencil and Match are the only original BFDI contestants in the EXIT.

She's the only contestant in BFB who never used their voting icon for voting.

She is the lowest ranking contestant from BFB to compete in TPOT.

• TPOT: Pencil, Pin, Coiny, Ice Cube, Rocky, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball and Needle are the only characters who've been in every season of BFDI. Pencil is the second first boot to rejoin, the first being Flower.

Pencil is one of the four original Squishy Cherries in TPOT, the others are Pen, Eraser, and Pin.

Because of Pencil joining in "Category One", TPOT marks the first time where she competes in a season without Match (not counting IDFB, as that isn't a competition season).

Pencil is the third person to join TPOT late, the second being Liy and the first being Teardrop.

CloudYAY is the first team Pencil has competed on without any of her alliance members.

Due to joining the same team as Donut; Pencil is now one of the few contestants who've been on the same team with every BFDIA contestant at least once, along with Bomby, Spongy, Needle, Golf Ball, and Yellow Face.

Unless Pencil reaches the finale of TPOT, she will be the only contestant in the series to be eliminated in every single competitive season by viewer vote. ^ Just by merely joining into TPOT in "Category One", no matter where Pencil places, it will be significantly better than her ranking of 64th/65th in BFB. ^^ This makes BFB the only season where Pencil ranked worse than in a previous season.

With Liy being up for elimination in "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", Pencil has gone the longest in TPOT without being up for voting.

Pencil is the fifth female contestant to get the most votes to stay in TPOT, after Pin, Pillow, Book, and Golf Ball.

As of "Bottle for Dream Island" Pencil holds the record for the most votes to stay in a single TPOT episode at 71,817, beating Black Hole's former record of 42,184 in TPOT 17 ^ This fact was even said by X, referencing her elimination in "Lick Your Way to Freedom". ^^ This is also the new record for most votes that a contestant received at their first Cake at Stake with votes to stay, surpassing Grassy's former record of 26,669 votes.

Comparisons: Pencil, Spongy, Golf Ball and Blocky are the only contestants with more than 100 kills. ^ Pencil has the fourth-highest kill count behind Spongy, Golf Ball, and Blocky.

Pencil is one of the five characters to be seen as a puppet; all of them were shown in "Bowling, Now with Explosions!"

Pencil is the first character to be seen driving a vehicle, the others are Fanny, Four, Ruby & Book.

Pencil is one of the contestants who have canonically entered The Underworld in "Catch These Hands", along with Spongy, Fries, Nickel, Pin, Golf Ball and Tennis Ball.
