Marker (BFB/TPOT)

Marker is a male contestant in Battle for BFDI and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.

In Battle for Dream Island, Marker was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance to join the show in "The Reveal". The votes for the debut were revealed in "Reveal Novum" and he only got 9 votes which was not enough to join, placing him 12th to join the season.

In Battle for Dream Island Again, Marker had the chance to join at the start of the season but he only received 109 votes which wasn't enough, placing 41st to join the season and so he was sent to the Tiny Loser Chamber.

In Battle for BFDI, Marker competed on Free Food until the split in "The Escape from Four" where he left the show to compete on Two's show.

In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, Marker competed on Death P.A.C.T. Again until the team swap in "What's Up Bell's String?" where he was instead put on Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again by One.

Abilities: • Malleability: Marker can make shapes from his hands that are normally impossible, such as a house, Four, and a hecatonicosahedroid. However, according to the Character Guide, this was not on purpose.

BFB: Marker is a humorous and cheerful character who likes playing rather unusual games such as Toss the Dirt and Eat the Dirt. He doesn't seem to be very intelligent, as he didn't know how to play Rock Paper Scissors until Foldy taught him in "Today's Very Special Episode". While not very knowledgeable, Marker has shown to be a level-headed, rational thinker and problem solver on multiple occasions, such as when he deduced that Four would be satisfied with fake emeralds in "Don't Dig Straight Down".

TPOT: Marker is playful, silly, and curious, but also helpful and willing to try. He often brings humor to situations, even through misunderstandings, but always wants to contribute. He’s emotional and cares deeply about his team, even if he’s not the most strategic, and is determined to help them however he can, as shown in "Gardening Zero" where, even after he's set on fire, he crawls his way towards his bracelet to save Ice Cube to properly preserve his team's mantra of preventing death.

Marker has also shown to dislike fighting and prefers peace and teamwork over conflict, even when it’s not happening within his own team. He’s more of a peacemaker, trying to lighten the mood or find alternatives, like when he asked Black Hole and Fanny to stop fighting in "Balancing P.A.C.T." or when he helped Pen and Needle cooperate in "What's Up Bell's String?".

While Marker doesn’t enjoy fighting, he will step up when necessary, especially to protect others, as shown in "Category One" when he retaliates against Robot Flower for killing Tree. He prefers resolving conflicts and working together, rather than causing violence.

Marker also seems to be quite gullible and trusting of others, as showed in “The Power of Four" Marker trusted his friend, Tree that is controlled by Grassy, even when he noticed something was off about his friend, and states that he has ”never lied to him“. Also, as seen in “Last One Standing”,Liy is seen to kill Marker even after he said he trusted her.

BFB: Marker appears to be a white plastic marker with a purple circle symbol on his side. He has a cap which matches the circle symbol and is the same size as the rest of his body.

TPOT: As of Seasonal Shift, his purple is changed to a light green, a design change that may be permanent as implied by its presence in the TPOT intro.

(Like most contestants, his limbs are black lines with the hands being round circles and his feet being slightly squashed oval-looking circle shapes. His eyes are also are black beans. Not humanoid.)

Marker is a purple (green, TPOT 15+) washable marker. He likes to write messages on his arms such as "IMMUNITY GOES TO ME!"

Marker is good-natured and cheerful. He also loves to play games! His favorite is Toss the Dirt, but he's willing to play plenty of other games with his friends Foldy and Stapy. He's not so good at Rock-Paper-Scissors, though, because he keeps getting his fingers twisted into house-shapes. And 4-shapes. And hecatonicosahedroid-shapes.

Did You Know?: Another thing Marker likes to write on his arms is "GAMER."

In BFDI 17, Marker has a tattoo on his arm reading "IMMUNITY GOES TO ME!" ^ Cary has confirmed that Marker had his tattoo removed at some point.

Marker's OMG phrase is "Oh My Artist" (OMA).

According to the Official Character Guide, Marker likes to write "GAMER" on his arms. ^ In fact, he mentions "Gamer" just before the intro in "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life".

When Marker had the Twinkle, his body was completely white instead of glowing.

Marker's voting icon is the only icon drawn on paper. ^ Additionally, Marker's icon is also drawn with a purple marker.

Marker can be seen without his cap in "Don't Dig Straight Down" and "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?".

Marker's BFB design appears to be based off that of a Crayola marker.

He has a distinct voice characterized by "exaggerated mouth movements" according to Cary.

It is revealed in TPOT 1 that his ink is washable.

Despite hating purple, Yellow Face was completely fine with him being on his team. ^ This might either be because he got over his hatred against the color purple before BFB, or he just enjoys Marker's company. ^^ Although, now that Marker is green in TPOT's timeline, that could retroactively explain this inconsistency.

In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Marker's loophole in the rules is similar to when Match played a similar strategy against Free Food in "Questions Answered". ^ Interestingly, both scenarios take place in the eighth episode of their respective seasons.

Marker's design resembles Crayola's markers, only difference being that Marker does not have a logo on his body, and the top of his cap is indented, with a round top on it.

In the voting poll for "Seasonal Shift" Marker is still named "Marker the Green", possibly showing that his color alternation could be permanent.

After Marker's color alteration, his circle appears very slightly larger.

He and Stapy are technically responsible for BFB, as they played toss the dirt, causing Dora to play and toss up cyanide. Flower picks it up and asks Black Hole to open it, causing him to come dangerously close and Four to save everyone and make him normal size.

At the BFDI x II tour in Seattle on 2025, during a QNA, it was stated Marker loves "Grow a Garden", a ROBLOX game.

Marker may be allergic to peanut butter, as he vomits after interacting with Nonexisty, whose presence is sensed by an innate flavor of peanut butter in the area.

Comparisons: Marker was one of the two BFB characters with a purple and white color scheme. The other is Lollipop.

Marker was the only male contestant with a purple color scheme, Lollipop is also the only purple female contestant.

Marker is one of the eight characters who have been recommended variants of themselves (Uncapped Marker in Marker's case). The others are David, Four, Flower, Puffball, Bubble, Spongy, and Cake.

Marker is one of the characters with a plush, along with Firey, Leafy, Firey Jr., Pen, Woody, Loser, Four, X, Rocky, Coiny, Bubble, Pin, Two, Evil Leafy, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, Flower, Ruby, and Spongy. ^ He, Firey Jr., Evil Leafy, and Ruby are the only recommended characters with a plush.

Marker is one of the contestants who have been voiced by both of the Huang Twins at one point. The others are Ruby, Tennis Ball, Spongy, Needle, Woody and TV.

Competition: Marker is the only character who got 9 votes in "Reveal Novum" who didn't become a Bleh member.

Marker, Robot Flower, Puffball, Leafy, and the other members of Death P.A.C.T. Again in TPOT 4 (excluding Lightning) are the only contestants that have purposefully made their teams lose.

Marker is the only contestant on Death P.A.C.T. Again who got more votes in TPOT 5 than they did in TPOT 2.

Marker is the first contestant to get a five-digit number of votes out of two teams.

As of "What's Up Bell's String?" Marker has gone the longest out of any Free Food member without getting voted off for the first time.

Marker, Book, and Price Tag are all tied for the longest streak of episodes where their save votes only increased, at six episodes straight.

With Yellow Face's elimination in "Bottle For Dream Island", Marker is the highest ranking Free Food member in TPOT.
