Shuriki appears as a slender woman with angular, almost narrow, body features. She has green eyes, fair skin, and long black hair with the upper portion tied back into a bun, similar to a ponytail. There is also a mole on the upper left corner of her mouth. Shuriki has makeup that gives her bright red cheeks and lips and silver eye shadow. She wears a long dark green dress with gold buttons down the middle and green diamond-shaped earrings.

However, Shuriki's true appearance, masked by the magic of her wand, is that of a frail, elderly woman with streaked gray hair and heavy wrinkles. Prior to absorbing the magic from Marimonda's crystal, Shuriki had to rely on her wand to keep her youthful appearance in check, where subtle signs of her true age would show up if she was not careful.

Francisco is a very wise man who loves his family and who has a firm respect for the by-laws and traditions of the Kingdom of Avalor. He also has a perchant for storytelling as noted by his wife when she tells Elena that he's always reminded of a story. He also has knowledge of the Scepter of Light as shown when he tells Luisa "It's never glowed like that before." As revealed in "Model Sister", Francisco believes in placing the Royal Duties before all else. He also values making a good impression during a Royal Visit. As revealed in "Island of Youth", he's a staunch traditionalist. As revealed in "A Day to Remember", he loves Dia de los Muertos for the snacks. He is shown to be the most reasonable of his family

Migs: The most composed and practical of the trio, Migs is the one who pulls the other two back on the ground. Luna: The only female of the trio, Luna is quite loud and brash. Sometimes, she's quite motherly. Skyler: Fun-loving and happy, Skyler is the most excited about life after the sorceress was defeated. But he can sometimes be reckless and immature. Through his time as the navagera Skyler started to display him as being responsible.

As Elena points out, Luisa is an optimist who always looks on the bright side of things. However, this is never to the point of being naive, for she has a very sharp attention to detail. She is also revealed to be an excellent cook and to have a dislike for being kept in the dark. She is also more open-minded than her husband and grandson. Luisa showed her tough and competitive side when she trained her Olaball team because she was determined to win, going a bit overboard in the process. She is also very protective of her family and will spring to their defense instantly; when she learned that Lord Elrod had purposefully injured her daughter Queen Lucia in a fencing tournament years prior, she was furious enough to threaten him with a duel. However, like Elena, she isn't the most reasonable of his family, as she couldn't forgive Esteban for causing Shuriki to attack them and did not see that Esteban had changed for the better slide and along with Elena and Naomi sentenced Esteban to exile, with Luisa believing he was too easy on Esteban

looks: Mateo has a slim figure with tanned skin, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. He typically wears a teal vest with a white undershirt, khaki pants, brown boots, and a red neckerchief. In his wizard robes, he wears a long maroon red robe with a hoodie. personality: As the grandson of Alacazar and a wizard-in-training, Mateo is very interested in all things magical, whether they be spells, creatures, or items. He is constantly seen trying to perfect his spells, yet sometimes his self-doubt and overly cautious nature can keep him from doing so. Yet if Elena and/or friends need him to, he will put all his fears aside and protect them, sometimes whether they want him to or not, with his magic. He can be clumsy and fumble up his spells from time to time as well. However after his friends help him reclaim the Codex Maru, and Elena shows her belief in his abilities, he gains a greater sense of self-worth and proves to be a powerful Royal Wizard, defeating Fiero in a duel. Magical Aura: His innate mystical aura and magic energy is colored a light orange that appears around the things he magically moves telekinetically, from objects to people.

Spell-Casting: Having inherited his inherent magical ability and prowess from his grandfather, he has a strong natural affinity with magic and mysticism. He is therefore capable of casting a variety of both basic/low-level and middle-level spells of nearly all types of good/light magics. Upon stumbling on the secret workshop underneath the royal sorcerer's chamber, he begins to further develop and strengthen his magic in order to cast topmost spells of supreme magics, which the spirit of his grandfather Alacazar refers to as being on the "master wizard" level.

Elemental Magic: Like all wizards, witches, sorcerers and sorceresses of good or evil qualities, Mateo is capable of magically generating and controlling the classical elements—Water, Fire, Earth, Air, Light, and Aether/Quintessence

looks: Naomi is a fair-skinned teenage girl with a slender figure and deep aqua blue eyes. She has short blonde hair and faint freckles across her rosy cheeks and pink lips.

Naomi's signature outfit includes a deep bluish-green bodice with strong green lining and is decorated with flowers at the bottom that go over a white top. She wears a brilliant green skirt with a deep bluish-green strip that goes around the lower part. She has black boots and wears around her waist a dark red belt. Around Naomi's neck, she wears a patchwork choker necklace decorated with three turquoise gemstones dangling from the front. Around her left arm, Naomi wears a braided cord bracelet with similar gemstones on her necklace. personality: Naomi is a practical girl who never gives up. Unlike Chancellor Esteban, Naomi approves of Elena's take-charge approach and is shown to have a dislike of the snooty Chancellor. She at first had a fear of riding the Jaquins, but she quickly overcame her fear after her first ride.

looks: Esteban, in comparison to the majority of the other characters, is the tallest and has a rather slender physique. He has short, slicked black hair that is slightly graying around his temples with wavy side bangs that fall just above his ear. When he was younger, he had his hair in a ponytail. His eyes appear to be a warm, hazelnut, or amber color. Although he appears to be in his early thirties, it is stated that he is in his fifties and was able to keep his youthful appearance thanks to exfoliation.

He is commonly portrayed in a wine-colored coat with yellow and black accents, a yellow and blue sash, yellow neckerchief, (possibly) blue dress shirt, white trousers, and black boots. personality: As Chancellor of Avalor, Esteban is very knowledgeable of the Kingdom of Avalor and, as he himself boasts, knows "anyone who's anyone in Avalor". He is also a firm adherent to etiquette. He is shown to also be a coward who is both shameless to the point of refusing to own up to his actions and a bigot; because of this, he can be snooty and is not liked much.

Esteban believes Elena is too young to bear the responsibilities that come with ruling a kingdom and disapproves of her personal approach to leadership to the point where he constantly seeks to undermine her and become viewed amongst the citizens as "the true power behind the throne". He dislikes being reminded that she is the one in charge, which ties into his overall intolerance of being told what to do by others.

Unlike Elena, Esteban is happy to delegate responsibilities to others and simply give orders from the sidelines. Despite his differences with Elena, however, he does care about her enough to want to keep her safe and values his family quite enough

looks: Gabe has a muscular body with brown hair, brown eyes, thick eyebrows, tanned skin, and wears the blue guards' uniform. personality: Gabe is a very enthusiastic, confident, and reasonable person. Gabe is also very protective of Elena and Isabel, because of this, he does not like Elena's take-charge approach mostly for the sake of his job. Gabe is very professional and takes his job very seriously.

looks: Isabel is a Latina girl with tan, light brown skin, a slender figure and light brown eyes, much like her sister's. Being younger, she is shorter than Elena and has long dark brown hair tied back with a bright blue ribbon.

Her signature outfit is a bright blue dress with short puffy sleeves decorated in flowery patterns. Her skirt measures up to Isabel's knees and tied around her waist is a blue bow. Isabel wears white tights and black Mary Jane shoes with blue bows. For formal occasions, Isabel is seen wearing a pink-and-yellow ball gown with a yellow ribbon tied in her hair. personality: Isabel is a precocious girl who is very creative and loves to draw and invent. She is also shown to love her older sister and spending time with her. Like another precocious Princess, Isabel values keeping promises no matter what to the point where she dislikes people breaking promises they made her. Also like Sofia, she loves doing her research and places a lot of faith in books she's read. Unlike her older sister, Isabel did not like Día de los Muertos because it reminds her that her parents are dead until Elena explained why she loves it. Also unlike Elena, Isabel is not into sports (except Olaball). She is six years younger than Elena.

Elena was given the Scepter of Light from her father, and the Amulet of Avalor from her mother. Both artifacts are ancient Maruvian treasures that possess powerful magic. The scepter can conjure spells through verbal order, while the amulet has a wide array of abilities that generally works to protect its bearer.

As a result of being trapped within the amulet for decades, Elena has garnered a few magical abilities of her own, as theorized by Zuzo at any rate. For one, as revealed in "First Day of Rule", she has the power to see and summon spirits at all times, as opposed to only when a wizard summons one. This also carries over to non-magical entities, such as the spirits of deceased humans, though this ability is only possible on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

looks: Elena is a beautiful, olive-skinned Latina girl with a slender figure and amber-brown eyes. She has ruby red lips and long, wavy, dark brown hair that she always ties in a ponytail.

Her signature outfit is a long red sleeveless over-skirt dress stylized with matching coral gauze ruffle/flounces around the elastic neckline and on the side and bottom with an attached ivory-colored underskirt. Around her waist is a golden belt held in place with a golden buckle. In addition, she wears brown high-heeled shoes with flowery patterns. Elena's jewelry includes a pair of golden engraved hoop earrings, a yellow and blue braided beaded bracelet on her left wrist, and a marigold flower hair comb clip on the right side of her hair.

She also usually wears an elegant, flowing yet ruffled flower motif red ball gown with a pink sash for more formal occasions. With this, she retains her usual ponytail yet swaps out the flower hair combs for a tiara, white heeled shoes, and her hoop earrings for hanging jeweled earrings. personality: Princess Elena has the heart and mind of a true leader. She is devoted to the welfare of her subjects, her family, and her friends. She is shown to hold her father in high esteem and looks to him for inspiration. Like the Princess who freed her, Elena values keeping promises no matter what and has a strong dislike of disappointing her loved ones to the point where she can take on more than she can handle. Also like Sofia, she has a personal approach to leadership and a disregard for her own personal safety. Unlike Sofia though, Elena is very confident, to the point where she can be careless.
