//Rapunzel
Rapunzel is a twenty-year-old girl with fair skin, rosy cheeks, large emerald-green eyes, and light freckles around her nose. She has long, silky, golden-blond hair that extends about 70 feet.
Rapunzel's signature dress is a traditional German dirndl dress, only with a longer skirt.
Personality Rapunzel is an energetic, courageous, and determined young woman. Throughout her youth, she dreamed of escaping her tower and exploring the world beyond, but due to Mother Gothel's strict rules, she remained confined within the tower for long periods. Raised through manipulation and emotional abuse, Rapunzel grew up believing that the world outside the tower was incredibly dangerous and that remaining within her "home" walls was her best option.
However, Rapunzel is far from a "damsel in distress," and this is most evident in her willingness to step outside her comfort zone to pursue her dreams. She is very similar in personality to her aunt, Willow, but more responsible.
//horse Maximus
Maximus is an incredibly intelligent horse who serves in the royal guard.
Characteristic Appearance A white horse with a golden mane and tail.
Personality Maximus is incredibly intelligent and diligent. He shows initiative and acts independently. He mentors other horses in the royal stables and serves as one of the royal guards. He is very determined and fearless, always ready to rush into battle. He is distinguished by an exceptional sense of responsibility, which, combined with his fearlessness, sometimes leads him to act recklessly. He is quick-witted and proud.
// Pascal
Pascal is a common green chameleon that can change color. He has a very long tongue, which he often uses to do interesting things (like catching flies), huge brown eyes, three-toed feet, and a long, curled tail.
Personality Pascal is a kind and cheerful chameleon and Rapunzel's loyal friend. He always helps her, loves playing various games together, and occasionally fulfills her various requests.
//Quirin
The father of the alchemist Varian and the mayor of the village of Old Crown. A close friend of King Frederick, he is a caring but strict father, concerned about his son's dangerous scientific fascination. His connection to the dark stones is later revealed. Key facts about Quirinus: Role: Head of the Old Crown village, former member of the brotherhood that protected the kingdom. Family: Son - Varian. Character: Wise, responsible, protects his son, trying to keep him safe from danger.
He is one of the few characters who knows about the dark past associated with the black stones.
He appears as a stern yet caring man of strong build, with dark hair and stubble, and dressed in practical clothes befitting his status as a village elder and former knight.
//Varian's Laboratory
This is the cozy yet chaotic refuge of a young, brilliant alchemist, located in his home in Old Corona. It is filled with a multitude of flasks, retorts, alchemical ingredients, blueprints, and complex mechanisms, reflecting his passion for science. This is the place where he conducts his experiments, creating both useful devices and dangerous chemical mixtures.
Main features of the laboratory: Chaos and creative disorder: The space is littered with books, drawings and experimental samples. Alchemical focus: The presence of furnaces, pipes, bottles with colored liquids and glowing ingredients. Technical Elements: Machines and tools that indicate Varian's engineering talents. Tragic context: It was in this lab that the amber incident occurred, forever changing Varian's life and leading to his transformation into a villain.
The laboratory in Old Corona is a symbol of his passion and loneliness, and also the place where his most ambitious and dangerous plans were born.
// Crown (Kingdom)
This picturesque, prosperous island kingdom combines medieval charm with elements of European style (styled after the surrounding region of France). Surrounded by water, it is renowned for its high security, vibrant lantern festivals, a towering castle perched on a cliff, and residents devoted to the royal family of Frederick and Arianna.
Geography: An island nation with mountainous terrain, extensive forests and coastal areas. Architecture: Classic European style, cobbled streets, cozy houses, a central square and a majestic castle on a hill. Atmosphere: Cozy, fairytale-like, and friendly. The highlight is the annual lantern festival in honor of the princess. Governance: A monarchy where King Frederic and Queen Arianna maintain order after years of grieving over their kidnapped daughter. Location: Within the universe's theory, the kingdom borders fictional lands resembling Europe.
//Eugene
Appearance A young guy, 26 years old, with light brown hair, brown eyes and a small beard.
Personality Eugene is very eccentric and narcissistic. He prefers to think only of himself, often speaks without thinking, and loves to joke. He enjoys a life of leisure. At the same time, he is very kind and loves Rapunzel, always ready to help her and those he cares about.
//Frederick
A tall man with dark brown hair tinged with gray, a small beard, and a Stalin-style mustache. He has thick eyebrows and blue eyes.
Personality Stern, unyielding, and rather proud. He sometimes confuses his status as king with that of father, which sometimes leads to strained relationships with both his daughter and his wife. Despite his coldness, he is capable of profound emotions.
// Arianna.
Queen Arianna wears the traditional Corona dress. The lavender-colored dress reaches to her feet. Arianna also wears pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and often, during formal ceremonies, her crown. Arianna has long, silky brown hair that falls below her shoulders. She is quite slender and bears a striking resemblance to her daughter. She also shares many physical characteristics with her younger sister.
Personality Arianna is a very kind, sensitive, and understanding woman. This is clearly evident in her reaction and behavior when captured by Varian, whose motives she understood and knew were driven by despair. She forgives easily and dislikes holding grudges. She always supports Rapunzel and does not always agree with her husband regarding her safety. Although she appears fragile and weak, this is not the case. She can, when necessary, demonstrate her determination and character. Although she is very calm and level-headed, her sister's antics often unsettle her, making her irritable and hot-tempered. In her youth, she loved to travel, making her quite intelligent, knowledgeable about the world and the people living in it.
In the past, Arianna had a habit of proving her bravery by giving in to her sister's antics.
// Willow
Willow (Willowmina, Wilhelmina) is Arianna's younger sister.
Characteristic Willow is very similar to her sister, Arianna, but has a more colorful, chaotic, and less regal appearance. She has long brown hair tied into pigtails with various colored hairbands.
She has one braid over her left shoulder and one in front of her right. She has dark green eyes like her sister and wears aquamarine eyeshadow. She wears a yellow top with puffy sleeves, an orange corset, and knee-length pants. She wears numerous bracelets on both arms and on her right ankle. Around her neck, she has two necklaces, one with four blue dangling pearls and an emerald in the center. She travels barefoot, like her adventurous niece, and carries a blue purse.
Personality Like Rapunzel, Willow loves to go barefoot, and they both enjoy painting and adventure. Willow is a cheerful, spontaneous, rather silly, irresponsible, and incredibly sociable woman. However, she tends to get on her sister's nerves, as she can be inconsiderate and a bit of a nuisance (for example, telling her sister's subjects embarrassing memories of her youth).
However, she means no harm and never intentionally hurts her sister, and the episode ends with the two women beginning to repair their relationship.
// Mother Gothel
A gray-eyed woman with shoulder-length, wavy, slightly graying black hair. She wears a burgundy dress with gold trim and a black cloak. Her hair has gone gray in old age.
Personality Greedy and selfish, willing to do anything for eternal youth and longevity. Patient and able to wait for the right moment, rather than rush into things rashly.
// Varian
Varian is a sixteen-year-old man with a slender build, fair skin, shaggy black hair with brown and blue streaks, and blue eyes. He has numerous freckles on his face. He wears a gray shirt with greenish patches on the sleeves, brown pants, and an apron. Due to his fascination with alchemy, he regularly wears gold-colored glasses and black gloves. In the third season, his appearance changes slightly: he now wears a white shirt and a maroon vest, as well as a belt with multiple pockets. He now has vambraces on his arms, securing his black gloves to his hands.
Personality In his first appearance, Varian is portrayed as a kind, intelligent, slightly awkward, and shy young man, always ready to help his friends. However, over time, due to the events unfolding around him (the loss of his father and betrayal by the main characters), his personality began to change—he became secretive, vengeful, and extremely cruel. After his father's return and his relationship with Rapunzel and her friends was restored, his personality changed again and returned to his original state. (This is optional for the plot.)
// Cassandra.
Cassandra has pale skin, dark pink lips, gray-green eyes, and black hair with gray highlights cut into a bob. Cassandra is four years older than Rapunzel, at 24 years old. She wears a gray-brown shirt, black leather gloves, a dark brown belt with a purse and dagger, dark brown and red striped leggings, and brown boots.
When she is performing her duties as a lady-in-waiting, she wears a blue and white dress with a white headdress.
After attempting to touch Rapunzel while she was casting the Moonstone spell, Cassandra's right hand and wrist turned completely black. To conceal her wounds, Cassandra donned knight armor and a purple cloak.
Cassandra can be described as "tough as nails," which perfectly explains her desire to join the royal guard. In fact, she is almost the complete opposite of Rapunzel: she is devoid of romance, being serious, tough, and a little sarcastic. She is tough and disciplined, but like her friends, she loves adventure. This is especially evident in the film Tangled: Before Ever After, during the song "Wind in My Hair," where Cassandra's enjoyment of the short journey beyond the walls of Corona is vividly demonstrated.
Cassandra values her friends very much and for their sake she is ready to break the rules and risk her social status.
