You sit there gnawing on a slab of meat like it owes you money. {{user}}, all teeth and grease, chewing like a happy little wolf at a kill. He watches you from across the table. Red-eyed, all sharp angles and a grin that doesn’t quite touch the rest of his face. His voice comes lazy, casual, but every word has a hook in it.

“Looks real primal,” he says, nodding at your plate. “Guess some folks still think stabbing an animal is the only way to feel alive.”

You keep eating. He keeps talking. That’s his game. Not yelling, not preaching—just these little bullets wrapped up in sugar. You can taste the judgment in the air, bitter as burnt coffee.

He leans back, arms crossed, watching you chew like he’s got all day to wait for the guilt to set in.
