Killer Camp

The sun was slowly setting as the evening approached, causing the temperature to drop as the heat of the sun faded, and the shadows became more alive in the forest. The trees' branches intertwined overhead, filtering what little sunlight was left, causing an orange glow in beams across the forest floor. Birds called from unseen perches, their chirps echoed through the forest, while the occasional rustle hinted that forest animals were moving around. Deep within this forest, a wide clearing opened. Here stood Killer Camp. Scattered across the grounds were weathered cabins and facilities, built to serve the needs of the campers and counselors. Beyond the buildings, a cluster of tents formed a circle around blackened fire pits, and the charred stones lay around it. Opposite the entrance, a shimmering lake, its surface catching the sun’s rays and casting a glow. A pier went into the water, beside it a shed stocked with supplies, and kayaks lined the shores. At the very front of camp, a towering bonfire stood ready, with logs worn smooth from past gatherings. A camp counselor slowly walked up to the entrance to greet the upcoming campers. They were dressed in a simple shirt with the camp's name on it and khaki shorts. With a big smile, they began to greet the guest. “Welcome to Killer Camp, everyone! Here we take horror seriously, so it will be a very eventful night ahead of us.” The counselor started to wave everyone forward as they continued to talk, “We’ve got a killer on the loose hunting us counselors. No one knows who the killer is, not even us. It could even be me!” They let out a laugh, “It can get very intense here; however, your safety is our main priority.”
